Goldman Sachs has changed their forecast to $4900 by the end December,
Reuters has got a decent article on it this morning

With US debt now way over 37 trillion, Fed about to cut again, Fed shutdown, political turmoil in France and Japan, the weekly 61.8 fib extension broken early yesterday, PBOC buying gold in September (figures released), all this with China on an 8-day national holiday.

Be very wary of shorting gold in anything other than short-term timeframe, watch futures when London opens.

Yeah, maybe it is at 300%, so usually profit taking now, but we are under an extremely unusual political environment. If gold is being hedged in futures, they don't care about pullbacks, its buy buy buy.
