I tried. He has a feminine touch to his posts always showing love towards the male gender. I find it hard to distinguish his or her gender hence my gayish post towards him/her. Anyway, may he or she recover from 1.197 on GU.

Yes sir,
That is robknob's breakeven. He joined in 2021 and made a big hooha in 2022 about price going down at 1.120000 with lots of derogatory statements to the ones that were buying. My downfall here started at the same time with chicko and rob's hard stance approach of price falling at 1.12 and it never happened. The grudge has been on since then. I have done nothing wrong to them but chosen the opposite trade to them.

Maybe it was a serious fight back then but look at Waveski now, do you think he is still mad at you? He just jokes around I don't want to speak behalf of Waveski but imho he would be the first person to get sad if you were to leave this room. Ur like twins that can't get along at this point He is the sarcastic and sometimes annoying one and you are the serious one

Anyways let's not bully or argue with each other, let's talk about our real enemies, QUANTS.

These guys are shockingly dumb, especially it's more shocking when you consider that they are geniuses at maths and coding but they think they can make money using linear regressions and shit lol.

Spent some time with these nerds in real life, in reddit and in couple other forums. It all boils down to being a good trader. Doesn't matter if you are an algebra, geometrics and coding master or just a peasant like me.

What quants easily do is to rig the game. They can be awesome brokers by playing with the spreads and slippage (awful for us traders) but they cannot be good traders if they don't have the skin in the game that we play in for years.

So, famous quants such as Simons are not successful bc they are just gods at algebra. They are successful bc they also know how to trade profitably. They know what to look for, where to look for and when to look for.

Ordinary quant is just a maths student or a software engineer who knows nothing about trading. He is not much more skilled than an ordinary coder, mathematician or economist.

If any quant is reading this, sorry mate your algos are useless 95% of the time. And you are 95% no better than anyone here.

I am pretty sure aspiring quants, quants of the future read these forums to find and test profitable strategies. You know what, i was thinking about opening a new thread and lay off my edge but i am pretty sure these virgin nerds will code it and backtest it so they can get a job in an institution. Kindly f off quants

Quant traders are mostly shite just like the most of the retailers.

Quant analysts, machine learning engineers mostly try to come up with models that their strategists (mostly economists) asked them to create. In order to backtest, calculate the risk, find out about the win rate and profitability. If it's good they use it, if not then they ditch it and wait for their strategist to ask them for a new model for his new ideas.

In big institutions quants usually research and trade fundamentals, although trading technicals is more popular amongst retailers. They trade news events with their algos that's why price moves crazily within seconds during big news events such as CPI, FOMC, NFP releases etc. Which is why i am also obsessed with trading fundies since that's what big institutions care about.

I hung out with these people, already knew few software engineers that work for banks IRL and also found people on reddit and other forums to find quants that are working for bank and institutions.

They are ripping their asses off to find an edge in the markets just like the rest of us. And they try to use already built-in models unless the market conditions change. They have models already made for specific market conditions and they continue to create them.

Traders that pulls the trigger manually still exist for the events that computers, algos and bots cannot foresee such as Russia-Ukraine war, Israel-Palestine war, Assassination attempt against Trump etc. These situations are generally handled by strategists and traders manually rather than quants.

This is pretty much what's going on inside the banks and institutions except the insider trading part.

I observed it carefully since we must know who we are competing against as traders. If you know your enemy, you will know what to do against them.

...Price ended the week in an undoubted up trend, ie general uptrends from 30min t/f all the way up to the wkly t/f. with mthly if not in a general uptrend, at least bullish. The wkly candle closed very bullish, - a bullish thrust candle, and Fri's dly candle too closed bullishly, but with an upper wick. So far this mth 86% of 6mth amr has been travelled, but price has not (yet?) bothered Mthly R1 which is @/around 3376.

In the run-up since the 2300 current yrly lo to Fris/last week's 3340 hi - the current yrly hi, the largest downside p/back was 3045-2665 (380pips,) followed more recently by 3266-3001 (265 pips.)

There are repeating patterns of regular bearish divergence (of varying historical strengths,) in my 2 x oscillators from 15min up to the wkly t/f @ said 3340. However the wkly candle close in particular, (bullish thrust candle,) is suggestive of more upside at some point, and with these thrust candles - before the lo/open of the candle is reached, - ie there may be a p/back within the body of the candle, but these candles, tend more often than not, (but are not guaranteed) to see upside continuation with or without such a p/back.

I ended the week, as I end every trading week - flat ( ie no open positions.) I start every week anew, knowing what state each t/f of interest is in (trending or ranging) and where the potential supp/res/sbr/rbs factors are on my t/f's of interest, and their relative historical strengths. That is my roadmap and it continually develops/alters as price discovery takes place during the week. I, like everyone else, have no idea what is actually going to happen, I have no powers of foresight or prediction, I just play the probabilities (when known,) when a repeating set-up (s) presents itself, within the context of the roadmap. No guessing, No 'I think/I feel that this is what is/should be happening next to price,' No ego getting tied up in trading decisions, - just dispassionate cold hard probabilities, knowing that the outcome of any individual trade is not known to me in advance, it will win or it will lose, but over a certain sample size of trades, provided I stick to my money management rules, I will come out ahead. I designed my trading edge to suit my personality, and I trade @ a risk size that if I lose, will not destabilize me psychologically.

Re my edge, I know all the probabilities I need to know. I know each set-up's historical % win-rate in each 'chart (s) state' circumstance, I know it's chances of a Consecutive winning run of trades, or consecutive losing run of trades of 2, 3, 4 etc...per each total x trade sample. So I am well equipped to know if the edge is continuing to perform per historical norms, and if it doesn't - whether it is the edge, or me, (ie me not following MM rules.)
