Hi, good lower t/f plays on the Uk data release, the chart below amongst them, ie we already had the 15min upside 'BOS' and p/back, then bullish engulf close trigger for another entry on 2nd upside b/o.

25bps would likely to happen than the 50 one

So GU gonna be downtrend for awhile if Fed cut only 0.25% rate? Nobody knows.

But whatever the results it is, today is gonna be the volatility injection day. Thursday and Friday would provide a good setup

Excellent, this confirms my setup.
Lower Frames working up through to the higher frames.
Just hope the 15 min pullback will repeat on a higher frame as well.

haha well i remember when he bought at 1$ and i was laughing at him.
I could not believe it would have any value.
I still think its tulip-mania but i really missed out on an opportunity.

He didnt buy it as an investment, he really believed in the whole idea of an alternative currency free from govt influence.
Not sure thats still the case.
So he actually became a multimillionaire by accident haha

wouldn't any base-rate cut weaken the dollar and thus push cable upward?

Headland not sure if your still doing this but I adopted your strategy of using the one minute chart and waiting until the 3rd minute to buy or sell the news. Works well by the 3rd minute the spread has shrunk back to normal

the rate cut has been promised/confirmed for some time now. The market already expects it so dollar price reflects at least the 25bps, in the last week expectation has grown for 50bps. So my view is 25bps will actually be good for the dollar, 50 will be bad but maybe not too bad given the expectation already out there. there is zero chance of no cut

Hi, you would think so but with the majority of the market apparently betting on a bigger than -0.25% cut, is only that it could disappoint? As always, trade what we see not what we think, if we get involved on that data.

Hi. Glad that is working for you but it's not mine! My favoured news/data release tactics/plays (spreads and market reaction allowing,) that I've discussed here many times, are:

a. Get involved in any strong momentum on close of 1st 1min candle.
b. Sell/buy the 1st hi/lo p/back respectively
c. Buy/sell the 1st p/back lo/hi respectively.

So here we are FOMC day … so the simple view is 0.25% cut could take us back towards 131-130 a 0.5% cut should take us up to 133-134

and right now we are 132 slap bang in the middle
