Hi. It's really easy. Set your moving average (EMA or SMA) to something like 20 bars. What you have to look is where the price is and the slope of moving average.
So if the price is above the moving average and it's sloping up, it's un uptrend. And the opposite for the down trend.

It depends on your timeframe you are watching and how behave the picked instrument. What is the price action doing in your timeframe over and over again. I am not a huge fan using a moving average from 20 who will not catch the behavior. I have for Euro the sma1440 and using it within the minute chart. I like to see details in price action and how this play with the moving average.

No such thing as trading "with a trend" as all trades are independent of their selves. Trends happen randomly and thus cannot be predicted from past results. Just like Seeing Black come up 7 out of the last 10 spins on roulette and stating betting on Black trend will win more often.

Simple, just put the EMA indicator on the chart and then read the line, when the price is above the line means market tends to upward, likewise when the price below the line, means the market tends to downward
