MT5 download synthetic instrument historical data

Hi
I have created a custom symbol but can't get enough data on chart but for the instruments its made from I have plenty of data.
If I try to download data it download only until March/2024
Using Metaquotes demo account.

Does anybody knows how to get more chart data for this synthetic instrument?

Download all the data from each pair in the formula

You cannot use the MetaQuotes demo server or your broker for accurate history data. The data you get will always be incomplete and erroneous. In MT4 you can rewrite the history by yourself, in MT5 that's not possible anymore as MetaQuotes intentionally restricted MT5 functionality to prevent traders from becoming profitable.

In MT5 your only option is to create custom symbols, import your own history for those custom symbols and then use these custom symbols for creating synthetic instruments. After you can analyze and backtest your synthetic instruments the same ways as regular symbols.

If you want to chart synthetic symbols from a realtime data feed you have to use the limited synthetic symbol you just created (from existing realtime symbols) and are limited to the erroneous history provided by your broker. In M1/M5 that's usually not more than 2-3 months. Never ever use the MetaQuotes demo server for data.

since you know ''custom symbol'' feature well, i was wondering if you can help me with a problem,

i have been using the custom symbol for some time too.

i was looking for a custom timeframe indicator that shows timeframes that metatrader 5 don't offer by default,
after asking from some people about that indicator, they told me that you can create any timeframe you want using ''custom symbol'' feature of the metatrader 5

do you know about this? if yes, can you please help with it?
if not, do you know any indicator that shows custom timeframes?

I didn't do anything particular but after few days keeping PC running I have now data.
will post charts this evening.

i was asking from you about the thing i asked in the POST 5

The information you got is wrong. MT5 doesn't support custom timeframes in any way. Metaquotes intentionally removed that functionality to prevent traders from becoming profitable. If you need to work with custom timeframes you have to switch to MT5's big brother - that's MT4.

i would switch to MT4, but it does not have custom symbol feature, thats what i need custom timeframes for
when did the metaquotes removed the functionality?
its also interesting, why would metaquotes want traders not become profitable?

i think its because it needed time to download the huge data, you had 7 pairs in your custom symbol which means a lot of data

MT4 supports custom symbols and also custom timeframes. It's called offline charts and you can feed/update them from the realtime data feed. The main difference to MT5 is that MT5 has a nice user interface to manage such symbols. In MT4 you need to have developer skills and write all the binary data by yourself. On the plus side MT4 supports custom timeframes, MT5 doesn't.

The feature was removed from the very beginning of MT5 and caused plenty of discussions by traders about MetaQuotes' motivation to do so. To make things worse MetaQuotes decided to remove binary history access completely and encrypted the stored history. That was the point when many traders said good-bye to such an application.

You need to understand that MetaQuotes gets paid by brokers, not by traders. 95% of brokers make money when traders lose, so they are interested in losing traders. There are many features implemented by MetaQuotes that serve this purpose. For example the virtual dealer plugin. Another example is the missing round number grid, missing in both applications since 20 years. That's the most basic feature any talented developer can write in half of a day. But MetaQuotes decided against the traders and for the brokers who make money when you lose.
