Close all trades at preset price level

I am with Global Prime and using their demo as well, not sure what they allow, I would think that everything.
I don't care how fast it happens as long as it is reasonably soon. I don't really care about milliseconds.
If I am around I am usually using script 'close all' or 'close everything' and it works just fine for me. This EA, if you do figure it out, will be the same 'close all' just without my participation, based on the price level on the key chart.

Also, I don't see any benefit in splitting long and short orders or providing this option at all, if I want to close then I want to close everything, that is the whole point of it - just to get out. I think providing an option long and short is just an extra work for you to code.

Of course, ideally it would draw a line on the chart where it is setup but it is probably too much to ask. If it just reliably shuts down everything I would be happy.

now it froze mt4, i used your last code. restarted it, after the restart it did not close anything, all pendings and active orders are in place although the level I set was reached and passed. something is not working. Journal is not showing anything wrong, all successfully loaded etc.

Sorry, forgot that pending orders have to be treated differently. Updated code (above).

To force-remove the EA: Before you start MT4, navigate into experts folder and remove the respective ex4 file.

And here the close-by-line EA.

How it works:
1. Put the EA on your 'master' chart.
2. Either you have orders already placed or you can now place orders.
3. Put a horizontal line where you want the close-out to happen (that is above or below current bid). The EA will look for a horizontal line object. Now, if the line at the time of placement (that is, on the next tick) sits above current bid, EA will be set to trigger if bid becomes >= value (price) of line; and if the line at the time of placement (next tick) sits below current bid, EA will be set to trigger if ask becomes <= value of line. You can move the line if you want (after placement), however, if you move the line to the opposite side of current bid (vs initially), it will trigger immediately. Do not place any other horizontal lines onto that chart.
4. When close-out is triggered the line will be removed, and you can start all over from (2).

just tried it twice, worked twice with a bunch of orders on different charts. The orders were buys and sells, active and pending - all were removed.
the procedure is a bit cumbersome as I am using horizontal lines a lot, so if there is no easier solution then I just have to use a clean chart for this purpose.

Another possibility is to assign a name (of your choice) to the line, then the EA can look for that specific line, other lines would not matter. When you place a line onto a chart, MT4 assigns to it a name; you would then change that name to the input of the EA. Ironically, at first I made just that version but then I thought it was too cumbersome, and replaced it with the version above. Bad luck. Here is the rename-your-line version:

I am not sure what is easier at this point - I created a clean chart with a pair switch with all the pairs that I am trading and will be using it strictly with your EA if I need an option of closing everything based on one 'master' chart.

If you are saying that the other option is to name a line each time when I want to use EA, it can create even more confusion, I think. If you feel like it maybe you can code it but to be honest I am happy with the current solution. I was adding multiple random orders few times and it worked seamlessly every time so it is a great tool.

I switched timeframes, clicked all I could think of, moved the line up and down and it did not glitch a single time so far.

Good. And yet, keep in mind that this is not production-ready code. For example, it does not handle all eventualities correctly, such as if an order for some reason cannot be closed etc. So, leaving it unattended poses certain risk.

I see. Thanks. I probably tested 20 or more times and each time it went smooth without any interruptions, I mean your last 2 codes. I will be keeping an eye on it first few times.

I know this is a old thread but im looking for a script that can act as a stoploss of sorts but only close a trade once price closes (ie. 1h/15m candle close) above/ below a specific level, any help would be much apricated

Hello Rokit - thank you for sharing this very useful EA ( attached) in this thread.

It works really well.

My problem is that the EA I am running with this 'opens a new trade immediately'after your expert have closed the open trades' - and I don't want that to happen.

Solution would be to add an input to : Disable autotrade after trades where closed ( with price reached)

To make the EA even more useful to everyone here ( including myself) I have a request:
(willing to donate to your favorite charity ( or buy coffee ) if you or any other talented coder here could assist ....

Could you kindly add following INPUTS to the existing source code attached:
INPUTS
- When price reaches price level ....
- Close 'short trades' > True or false
- Close 'long trades > True or false
- Disable autotrade > True or false
- Enable autotrade > True or False

This will be greatly appreciated - as in my case I want my EA to start working at a specific price level - so this will be super useful
I realize that autotrade would have to be switched 'off' for it to be switched 'on' by the EA , of course...
