Hi there Vivad!

Sorry for the late reply, but this week I have been reviewing your messages and advice repeatedly to be able to cultivate good habits.

I am using the same settings of 8 ema and 34ema as well as renko 21 to configure my chart, what I have started to incorporate as new are the levels from the previous day and the week to see possible support levels. Coincidentally, on Friday practicing on the SIM account I made 2 trades and both were positive following your advice, the first +60 ticks short and the second +40 ticks long and closed manually just before it reversed. It was a very pleasant feeling, although coming from me I know that maybe it was with a bit of luck too haha.

I have some doubts if I may ask:
-¿You plot yesterday/week high-low using the renko chart, or you change to timeframe candles for doing that and then return to renko?
-¿What rules you have for take profit/stop loss on NQ right now? I asumme you go for +40...+60 ticks aprox from your previous post, but what for stop loss?
- I have read that you also do trailing stop for the NQ, what rules/configuration are you using with it?


Regarding one of your captures, I attach some marks that I have made of entries that I personally would have taken at that moment. (red cross to sell, blue to buy). As you can see, I try to avoid ranging markets by waiting for it to continue in the direction of the ema34, breaking a Higher Low. But many of them would be losses or, with luck, breakeven. What reasoning would you use in those situations? I see that your entries are way better chosen, but many times you don't wait to break that Higher Low to enter and just enter short on a second red candle.

How do you differentiate good entries when an HA candle breaks a Higher High or Higher Low resistance from also other good entries that you do where you enter on the second candle of the movement?


By the way, it also happens to me that many times I lose the connection with the PROP FIRM from Ninjatrader. Restarting the program seems to do nothing, but if I restart the entire computer it reconnects correctly, in case that helps you with future troubleshooting!


Apart from all my doubts, which are not few! I wanted to thank you for the time you have dedicated to answering me with useful advice and recommendations. I really read it carefully to apply the recommendations and be able to improve.

In my opinion, your first red cross was too late. At that point, an entry is fine, just be willing to accept that NQ is somewhat mean reverting, and therefore a reversal back towards the prior break down level was likely and could happen at any time.

Your second red cross is fine though late (I'd prefer to short the close of the first red HA candle after the pullback to previous support now turned resistance) and I am looking for a profit of +60 ticks and you should have gotten it. Your 3rd red cross didn't close below the swing support level. A better try, imo, would have been the red HA candle after the 2 bar pullback above. Your 4th red cross, again, is late. Maybe focus this week on trading pullback entries as price is coming back out of the ema's, whether it is a reversal back to trend from the 34 ema, or from the 8 ema bands?

For NQ, I have been using a -40 tick stop loss and a +40 to +60 tick take profit. The longer the trend has been going, the smaller the take profit. For example, the third pullback entry in a trend is often the last. The third is more often a loss than the first or second. The third is more likely to be a higher low in a downtrend or a lower high in an uptrend.

Gonna practice that! Your drawings of entries and feedback helps a lot!

ES HOLO short entry is possible

CL HOLO Short

ES now has a slightly higher HOLO short entry. I just pulled the order because we are less than 5 minutes to the NYSE open and I'd rather not enter during the opening few seconds of the stock exchange session. In this case, bot ES and NQ are within easy distance of Friday's high prices, so very likely at the open that even if the Highest Open is broken, price will reverse and take at least a stab at Friday's highs before reversing lower. And given the overnight rally, maybe we see bull breakout mode today.

Both ES and NQ to Friday's highs and breakout mode attempt is underway.

+50 tick profit on CL HOLO short

NQ buy stop at 18357. Need closes above that level though to bring the buyers in who might push price up for a measured move of the NYSE consolidation so far. Target would be 18425.25. I'll set a take profit at 18417 or thereabouts.

Went full size on the pullback-continuation. Need an H-A candle to close above that 18378 swing resistance and then I'll move stop to breakeven.

NQ got me in that one :S, tricky price action around yesterday high.

Stop is at +5 ticks on remaining 3 contracts. I took profit on 2 contracts at the possible double top.

took profit on another as price again failed to make a higher high.

Stopped on the 2 remaining contracts at +5 ticks.

Done for the day other than I will take a HOLO short on the ES if it breaks, and my target will be the globex open.

Current HOLO short level on ES. In about 10 minutes ES will have a higher highest M60 open, and if that open is above yesterday's high, which is it is likely to be at this point, then I will cancel the HOLO short order and I will not place another. If this hourly candle closes above yesterday's high, then I'll consider ES to be in a confirmed breakout mode, and I would not short it unless this breakout of Friday's high fails. In that case, if I were to trade it, I'd use the 8-21 or 9-18 ema chart to guide the way.
