Call me Vidvad - I day trade futures

Tested previous high from Monday as support. Looking for a break below to get short, or for price to reset above the 34 ema to get long. I will also short a reversal down at the 34 ema

Flat ema, with ema band straddling it.

Unfortunately I missed the nice short trend due to technical issues. Now the market has gone flat.

Here is how I view the current situation.

No reason to trade until price breaks out of this area with consecutive closes.



One candle closed but next candle reversed. Even the candle that I'm saying "closed" above still had part of the body of the candle inside the trading range zone.

I think I'm done for the day with NQ.

CL HOLO short went to +50 ticks and more. I was not able to participate because of the prop firm rules.

My experience with CL is that holding through the inventory number is not typically a problem for HOLO trades. There is typically a reaction, but nothing like the indexes reaction to NFP or CPI. Really unprofessional of the prop firm not to allow a hold through the inventory.

Scalped my way on the 821 M5 chart to $286.68 profit on oil today. I'm fine with that especially as it is around the daily average figure I'd like to achieve over many, many days based on my plan for this prop account.

No trades on NQ today.

I'm done for the day.

I have to say I am really enjoying trading oil. The HOLO method + 821 method makes for some very nice trading without a whole lot of stress.

First HOLO of the day was a short at $80.39. Price dropped to 80.23, rallied to 80.47, and then slowly stayed in a range. When the 7:25 AM M5 candle closed, the 8 ema crossed below the 21 ema, aligning the 821 chart with the HOLO trade. The low of that candle was 80.29, and two candles later price made a low of 80.28 and did a quick rebound to close that candle at 80.40. When that candle closed, the 8 ema crossed above the 21 ema for the open of the next candle. At that point, I Moved my take profit to 80.38 and my stop loss to 80.41 ( one tick above the high of the last closed M5 candle. My TP was filled so basically a scratch trade.

IF price tests the high of the day, especially if it tests last week's high at $80.67, and reverses, I will take another HOLO short before the PPI numbers at 8:30.

New HO at 80.47, so I need price to trade above that level to set up another short opportunity.


Price dropped at the open of the hour and as a result, the 821 is now short and aligned with the presumed HOLO trade direction. But this i sthe 3rd cross is less than an hour, and so price is really in a trading range.



Depending upon how price acts when the 8:30 economic data is released, we might get a HOLO short, or it might be another day of scalping using the 821.

I don't have a full session available to me today as other obligations require me to make a road trip this morning. I really need for a set up to fire before 9:30 AM eastern or I'll not be able to trade today.

Persistent trading range, and multiple ema crosses. This is the type of PA that needs a news catalysts to jolt it awake, whether that means break up or break down, or a little bit of both.

I failed to mention but really should point out that for the second day in a row oil is in bullish breakout mode as it is trading abobve yesterday's high. Last week's high is just above current price levels.

Not feeling well today and just getting started now. Missed an early HOLO Long on CL as a result. Not sure whether I'll be trading at all today.

The early HOLO long reached its +50 tick target, and oil is again in breakout mode as it broke above last week's high. This morning's HOLO long level was a retest of last week's high as support. So I would expect that CL will now continue higher and test yesterday's high and attempt to breakout above that level. HOLO shorts should likely be avoided until price attempts and fails a breakout of yesterday's high.

HOLO short sim trade is working well. I did not take this as a live trade.

Anyone trading renko H-A should have no long trades since the NYSE open.

NQ testing last week's low and news out at 10AM, so reversal or break down? News at 10:00
