Yes. However, we can choose between many brokers. Therefore, choose wisely.

And TT favors TD365? They are regulated in the Bahamas.. And their fixed spreads are available only in their web platform.. Now, platforms that are not programmable are basically worthless. Imo his review is not perfect.

I have been using IG for a while, running EA on a VPS. I also have been using IC. I runt exactly the same set of EA/parameters on IG and IC on different MT4, the only difference is the leverage/amount of money. I have always understood/expected that the performance will differ somewhat on the margin. My IG account has only a spread and IC is a ECN with a commission but a small spread.

I have now been running the system for 6months, and fun fact, I notice that IG performs catastrophically worse than IC. Even when the commission etc. are taken into consideration IG is a lot worse. It is difficult to see exactly why it underperforms, but it will miss a trade here and there, sometimes take a trade when IC don't. Sometimes hit a stop while IC don't.. It can be (or are most likely) due to the spread, my systems are developed in Amibroker, so that can, of course, create a problem with the indicators etc when doing a near to scalping system´(not really scalping, but nearly)

I have now an updated setup where I more closely will follow this and have also added the exact same setup on two additional brokers to compare.

It would be interesting to hear if anyone else has made the same type of comparison (EA with the exact same setup and compared performance over a longer period).

Talk about driving clients away, apparently, there is an accumulative LIMIT of 20 demo accounts, includes all MT4, MT5 and C-Trader together.

They expire after 30 days, you can't delete them, you can't use them, and after 20, you can't open any new demo.

This is over a period of 10 years so I guess they are done with me...

So, look for a new broker I guess...

Just use a different email address and you are good to go, after new demo account request to make the demo non-expiry.

That's what I had to do, a different email address, just to get an operating demo account

I know about the non-expiring request, I had used that for MT4 previously

I just don't understand why they can't wipe a few of the old demo accounts after 5 years or something

Why make it so hard for an existing, long-time client

I have to go through the hassle of new email, new client log on and all the associated passwords to remember

As I said, almost as if they are making it easier to start over with another broker

But I must say, MT5 is looking very slick since the last time I used it, like a Windows app or something

Just a quick note to alert people of the withdrawal issue I am having with IG.
About a year ago, I wrote a message on this forum (at the bottom of page 2) stating having withdrawal issues with IG, that's a partial withdrawal - I.e not all of my funds. A few days after that, I saw the funds in my bank account.

Anyway, moving forward, I recently closed all trades and made a full withdrawal on 27th April. On 5th May, IG sent me a transaction report saying IG has sent me the funds, telling me to contact my bank instead. It's kind of weird as on the report, the beneficiary account number was not the same as my bank account number that IG has on file. My bank confirmed it did indeed receive the amount but due to an incorrect beneficiary account number, it had returned the funds back to IG.

I did my bit, informing IG about the problem, asking them to ensure the correct beneficiary number will be given to my bank on the re-attempt.

On the second withdrawal, IG informed me very quickly that it was unable to return funds to me. When I asked for a report, IG said there is no report available, I checked with my bank and found out that it did not receive any transfer of that amount. IG deliberately ignore my question of what beneficiary account number that IG sent to (if any)

So definitely an attempt from IG to prevent its clients from withdrawing their own funds

So please think carefully if you are thinking of opening accounts with IG and consider closing your accounts with IG. What is the point of trading if the broker makes it extremely difficult to withdraw funds?

IG is quite untradeable for me. I tried their demo. Almost every time I tried to open a position, I will get at least 1 requote. To have requotes on demo, I think it will be worse on live.

I opened up an account with IG around 10 years ago when I first started to get into trading.

I have used them in the past and have not had any issues, deposits are quick and my withdrawals have always landed in my bank account.

I tried various strategies on IG and unfortunately my stop losses kept getting triggered. I also tried opening these same positions with another broker and noticed my trades would end up going as planned. I'm not sure where they get their data for their price feed, but I am not a fan of it. It just doesn't work for me.

They are definitely a reputable business and my support queries have been answered all the time in a prompt manner. If you can get it to work, I don't see why you shouldn't use them.

Curious to know what trader's thoughts are on IG in 2022. I'm from the UK and looking to get into spreadbetting. Interested in the GBP forex markets, thinking of starting with GBP/USD.

If you don't rate IG, i'm also interested in reading your thoughts on who is worthy of placing money with.

Update on this and previous posts about demo account; on live chat during the weekend of April 22-23, 2023, they were able to delate all, expired demos accounts.

Not sure what changed, previous the support knows nothing about anything, sheesh....

And today, I am posting this picture for future reference, posterity.

Who can suggest alternative, problem free brokers for Australians?

I G Index, have watched many videos but cannot find the answers.
1.) On IG watchlist Market - I DO NOT want sell, buy, change etc. I just want the Market name only
2.) also when i cl;ick on the market a NEW chart appears, how can i stop this happening as i end up getting zillion of charts and it means i have to individually close them. So all i want is that when i click on markets the chart changes rather then opening a new chart

Lot of requotes and slippage on ig.
Ok for medium term trading. Not so hot for short term.or day systems.

Not a big fan to be honest.
