10% off with 125% refund are meaningless for most traders if the customizable options are not refundable. I have asked why you have made the decision to change this policy, but have still not received a response. This lack of transparency will only hurt your credibility among traders.

Hi there Nsak3y, The reason why we don't refund the customization fee is that any customization will be carried until traders are funded, and as we all know, customization increases our risk as investors.

And prop firm statistics from several companies also show that there are a large number of traders who passed the evaluation but the numbers are drastically going down for traders who receive 1st payout, and it's dropping down again when we are talking about traders who can maintain their accounts until 2nd payout.

Probably you know already that there are many traders are still gambling and not trading with consistency, especially when they are looking for easy rules, a good and consistent trader rarely purchase customization unless they needed them for their specific trading strategy. Because they understand that those rules are designed to force traders to become better.

We made any decision purely based on statistics and risks, of course, we also need profit to sustain our business, pay our costs, pay our employees, etc. But basically, if we change one or more policies it's for the best of everyone.

-But traders are having to take on more risk by putting up more of their own capital in order to purchase these options. Some of the options more than double the overall, associated costs.

Furthermore, the customizations do not carry any risk for your firm during the challenge phases, since no profit is actually earned (most of the time), and as you say, the statistics show that traders that actually reach payout are drastically lower, so any trader that makes it through your challenge phases, following your guidelines, has already shown that they can handle the risk and turn a profit. In other words, they have proven that they are less of a risk than other traders... yet you are punishing them by keeping their money?

What kind of message do you think that this sends to your traders? "Good job on passing, but we're keeping your money because you might be a risk to the firm, even though you have proven that you are not". Okay. If you are not really looking for good traders, then this makes sense, and any good trader is just a threat to your firm. Is that right?

If you are really looking for good traders, then if a good trader has proven themselves, wouldn't you want them to be able to prosper with your firm? Wouldn't you want them to feel encouraged and even incentivized to purchase additional options that can offer them greater protection on their account(s)? How is keeping their money going to do that?

-Respectfully, this is nonsense. Any good trader will make use of the tools available to them. Why would any good trader decline options that would further-mitigate their risk?

-The custom fees are not and should not be considered profit. These added options should carry very little overhead for you, as a firm. What you are charging is more than the challenge itself, depending on the options selected. This is unreasonable. How can you justify this?

-Your traders are your business. Without them, you have no business. Stop changing your rules and refund the customizable options if you truly care about the success of your traders. At the very least, refund the custom fees for traders that pass, and keep the fees for traders that fail. If most are failing, how is this not sufficient?

Each and every customization carries its benefits and burdens, for both, the trader and the firm.

Examples:
1. Increase profit split: By purchasing it and paying for it 1X ONLY, in advance, they can receive more profit split forever for as long as they can keep their account and the firm gets less, forever.
2. Removing daily drawdown: By implementing this the trader gets more chance than usual, and the firm gets 2x exposure, for example, the firm should have only lost 5% when the trader hits the daily drawdown but when this is removed the firm will only have the maximum loss limit to protect its capital. Especially when a trader is funded this is very risky. Even when we did our numbers already based on the statistics we still receives large exposure because of removing the daily drawdown.

We can continue to explain the reason and why we keep the fee for each customization when the trader is funded. But I think the 2 examples above are clear enough to clarify this matter.

The examples that you have given matter more for cases in which traders are not getting copied over to a live account, since any profit or losses that are reflected on live would correlate with your own, and adjustments can be made to offset additional risk etc..

That being said, we are not so naive to think that all of your traders are getting copied over. Hopefully not, anyway. However, we are also not so naive to think that most traders are reaching a payout, let alone passing the challenge phases.

That being said, do you still insist on keeping the fees, even for traders that pass, in lieu of only keeping the fees for the bulk of the traders that ultimately fail?

If so, should we believe that your model relies so heavily on these additional fees from the very small number of traders that actually reach payout in order to stay afloat?

Can you not find a reasonable balance that will benefit both, the firm and your successful traders?

We did our research and I suggest you should, trading carries risk for as long as the activity is conducted. We gave traders options, and they should research, collect data, and practice in real conditions first before making any decision (just like trading). We do not force them to buy customization, they can go with the basic challenges, it's their call, not ours, and they should weigh the benefits over the cons before deciding to buy any customizations.

Not always, I am a trader myself, I am only risking 0.15% per trade for a challenge with a 2.5% daily drawdown, and 0.3% for a challenge with a 5% daily drawdown, my risk management rule must follow the rule of the company (just like working at any regular company, it's their rules, not ours), not the other way around, the loss limits are meant to be our safety net. If you were climbing a hill would you want your safety net as close as possible to you? Or as far as it could? Unless a specific trader has a specific strategy that is proven through time with enough data, they might use the customization or tools you referred to.
If you did your research you will learn that consistently profitable traders that receive regular payouts for more than 6 months period are gaining not more than 5% per month, seeing that number, can't you calculate how much are they risking per day?

As mentioned above, we offer customization, remember, we only offer, and it's not refundable. If a trader decided to go for it it's their decision, not ours, there are a lot of other prop firms that they can choose. If we can help traders to succeed better by using our customization we will be happy, but keep in mind we also did our study, our calculation, our research, and our data collection, and those factors lead us to make the decision that the customization fees are not refundable.

We can go on and on discussing this, again, please do your research and data collection before pointing fingers, for sure we have done them. Just like trading, you need to refine and adjust it, sometimes you need to add or reduce one or several rules. That is what we did, we have to adjust our rule by taking the decision that the customization fee are not refundable.

We have stated this clearly in our rules and FAQs, our funded accounts are traded on demo accounts and then we copy them to a real account with live funds, we are doing that because we also need to manage our risk, so before any trader purchase our accounts they are already aware of that, and they do not mind, we have more and more funded traders from time to time.

The prices for those customizations and the decision not to refund them is a "reasonable balance", again, there are a lot of other prop firms with different options and rules and different prices, you are welcome to choose any of them, custom products always come with a higher price.

You have made it clear where you stand, how you view your traders and what your priorities are. Rather than give a reasonable explanation as to why you will not even consider an alternative approach, you just patronize and give generic responses that do not help. This is very unfortunate.

You say that custom products always come with a higher price, and I am not arguing that, but every major firm in this space refunds traders that successfully pass their challenges. I would even argue that some of your 'custom products' should not even be custom and should be included by default. The percentage of traders that actually see a payout is negligible, yet you are keeping their option-fee money and it is not right. Such a small thing...

I have tried to reason with you, for the sake of other traders. I have failed. You have let traders down.
