{quote} Hi Smokey7, I can’t tell from experience but when a strategy is coherent it should just be efficient on most types of assets. I have seen a few Ichimoku traders doing very well in stocks as in forex.

No problem I may test it out regardless, thank you for the great contribution!

I suppose this question is directed to Filipo1, Oddbjorg and Maxwell87 . . . but others are welcome to chime in. I am wondering if you see a qualified entry (I actually like the ema 5,3 best but I keep the BB and RSI 14 on the chart for some guidance and draw dynamic TLs if possible) on D1 do you drop down to a lower tf for your entry, maybe H1 or M15? Alternatively, it seems to make sense to me to enter as and if price exceeds the wick on the previous qualifying D1 candle. However, I know on many forums the call is to drop down tf and look for a qualification on the lower tf.

If you drop down to the M15 or less almost anything can happen in the short run. Coming in past the D1 wick gives up some pips but seems to add a layer of safety.

Any thoughts or guidance from your experience with this system assuming you are trading with the D1.

Many thanks. My best to you.

FS

Hi Forest-Sea,

Sorry for the late reply. I am no longer using this specific strategy and am no more active on this forum. I use essentially Ichimoku Kinko Hyo now, traditional Hosoda way with 5 lines, time cycles and forecast lines. If you are interested I strongly recommend watching the YouTube channel of Japanese Forex Trader Kei.
And to reply to your query, timeframes top-down analysis is essential whatever indicators/strategy you are using as it wil allow to limit your losses and opt for tighter stop-loss if you are are using them for your risk-management (the only real strategy…).
All the best.
I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure...

Thanks Filipo for your response. I generally have Ichimoku on my screen no matter what else is there. Trader Kei has truly shown much on his sites. Glad this is working well for you. My general concern with ICH is that one passes on possibly qualified entries waiting for everything to qualify with the 5 lines.

If I could ask one additional thing of you, I wonder what TF you are actively trading?

Wishing you every success.

FS

Hello Forest Sea.
Thank you for the good old times, - but

- in the beginning of 2023 I withdrawed from forex a lot, as I think the USD started to behave strange. I just thought it could have something to do with crypto.
- and hence it is not good to express what I do in forex on the forum, as I am only 50/50 % sure in my takings.
It may be better again later.
Thank you for always being so kind on the forum.
All the best to you all.
Oddbjørg
All the best to all of you. But don't follow me. I am a learner.
