Hello Everyone,
I am Stomyknight, and this is my first post here in Forex factory.

IFMYANTE is my guru. A guru who may not know his disciple, like the epic story of Mahabharata, about Dronacharya and Ekalavya, I am the second. At least I like to think it that way! Anyways, since, due to some tough times, I couldn't repay the bill of renewal of readthemarket.com, I came here and thought to study my Guru's trades and posts here.

I am not privileged like Arjuna, and hence I can't pay the bills to learn from him (for now- but someday I will), therefore, the only way I can learn it is by recalling everything that he ever said!

I believe he left this forum, because like every other truth, his truth was also very unattractive to many people, and misunderstood too, as I can see! But that is not my topic to discuss here. I am just learning from my guru with all my deepest devotion and regard for him- So here is my analysis of his trade, that he posted.

Ha Ha, Thank You. But it makes me feel sad to feel abandoned from IF. I still feel connected to his world. Only I don't have the capability to remain there physically

Thanks for the many wishes. I already had a great start in March and I am up over +14% on my account. Of course I cannot hold that speed and I will take it slowly for the rest of this month as my goal is to do +20% monthly. But I had a very good setup this week, which is only every few weeks on such a chance and I took it.

Now I made +24% in March so far. I achieved all goals for hedge fund account. What do you think, should I continue to trade (cautiously) or just wait for payout ?

Well done. Unless you don't get paid for any gains over 20% then I see no reason why you shouldn't continue trading. Some months will be more profitable than others. Make hay while the sun is shining.

It is not that easy, as consistency is watched closely. So when you make too much profits in a certain period of time, they suspect that it can also go the other way down against your account. This is so with the calculation of Sharpe Ratio which is widely used. I know Sortino ratio would be better, but the hedge fund manager wants it that way. So in case I would continue to trade and make much more profits than now, this will be considered as extra risky, though I would get a higher payout. But it would certainly decay any extra capital allocation into my account, as my account is still small even for the small hedge fund. So I just started and my end portfolio value is not reached by far. So I depend on how much they add on capital each month, until I achieved the max. allocation per trader. This is I need to consider too as it is important. With much higher and faster more capital I can trade with, I can also get much higher payouts than now, up to 6 figure in the end per month. So it is not all about maximizing return each month. It is more about consistency until I have the max. capital allocation per trader. Until then I need to be extra cautiously and I better do stop trading now, I deliberated. Because I made the same +24% performance last month on demo account before I went to live this month in March. I think that is better and it shows higher consistency. As what cannot be more consistent as always having the same profit at the end of period to get as fast as possible extra capital to trade with. Also it is good salary for what I traded this month already. Even for this start. So I am looking forward to 5 figures now on a monthly base from April on. Because I am very sure that I will get extra capital to trade with because of my performance in March, when April is starting. So I could at least make the double salary with the same performance, or even triple the salary, because of much more capital added. This is what I really want. So better not to take more risks than neccessary while maximizing salaries I can achieve. It would be much harder, if I do not care about consistency and just maximizing returns each month to get the same salary then maximizing the capital allocation especially at the beginning. I hope you understand. Hedge Funds are special here. They also care about other metrics than just returns.

Good news, it is confirmed that I get the double capital to trade with on next month April. So I won't risk that by continue trading this month. I am fine with that.

One thing to say about hedge funds. The good thing is they are much less strict than prop firms as most prop firms have hard rules and not reflecting real market conditions truly and also they are against you or on the other side of table as they profit from you when you fail. That is not the case with hedge funds. And you do not need to pay them any fees for so called challenges. So in any case you are consistent profitable it is better to look for hedge funds and trade for them remotely as looking for any (even larger) prop firms like FTMO of MFF. For me there also no very hard rules, but of course they evaluate everything. And you should be consistent profitable to attract larger capital with them. But is not like that when missed you max. daily loss by $1 only you failed and you need to start from beginning. That is certainly not the case with any hedge funds. And you can trade usually everything, from stocks, futures, FX, cryptos as most of them are not that limited. As long as you make profits they are happy. And good thing is they are always on your side and you can talk to them (like a friend) and they have open ears to your suggestions.
