Hey people, what do you think is the best TF for identifying R and S and why? Also the same question for trend. Should one focus on the mini trend on lower TF or bigger picture on higher TF like 4H or Daily?

I use Supply and Demand zones which is not the same as S&R but quite similar and they are generally close. I use daily, and it is quite accurate while trend trading, take a look at 14 RSI hitting 50 everytime too:

Daily at minimum for me. You can clearly see the patterns repeating, easier to identify the trend, it's easy to see early S and R that you can't see in lower TM and some times you really have to go back to identify them. Only then go lower and do your thing.

Trying to do this on the lower TF is like someone with cataracts trying to find is way around a city. You can only see a couple centimetres from you.

My view anyway as always.

Thanks! One more question though. You focus more on candle's body or on wicks also?

only market makers got options in forex...better to avoid market making brokers , as i had conflicts of interest , they delayed my withdrawal , hence i switched to ECN/STP , where my buy/sell orders passed to lp , without Dealing Desk intervention..banks too hate market makers...only advantage is i found is to scalp on news hours as there will be no slippage ...rest , its not safe in my opinion, my funds are used for their hedging purposes , and they hedge against me...there are many such ugly brokers in the fx world...rabbit holes

But you must keep in mind that the primary purpose of this site is generating revenue. And that requires views and mouse clicks . And as anyone can observe, drama generates way more interest than trading discussions. So is it really any surprise at all that the administration turns a blind eye toward almost all offenses except the most egregious?

And when a thread starter is absent, resulting in no one controlling the thread, the thread either dies or becomes a free for all.

Body is more important to me. Where it opens and closes. For example Friday GU printed a big wick, bc of bad retail sales numbers. But looks like market saw it as an opportunity to "buy the dip", so it printed a wick instead of closing on the lowest lows.

There are already rules for every thread. You can read the Traders' Code of Conduct and discover for yourself that the administration prefers to stay out of the thread conflicts.
