{quote} These are the best times to trade the indices. Unpredictable yes, if you don't know what you are looking for.

What should we be looking for at these times? ICTs recent YouTube mentorship gives some ideas on this.

As a friendly suggestion, as you are rather new to trading and to the roadmap "model" (from what I can tell) I wouldn't try to incorporate too many different styles and believes into your trading.

Stick with Roadmap and watch the charts, gain your own experience through time and find out how the Market moves. This is going to be a long road, but I promise you it's a much more successful road.

There are many beautiful details about Roadmap trading that you haven't noticed yet, but those details need to be discovered by yourself. Adding too many things makes you go blind to the small details which are actually important.

Cheers!

And go to Laura's journal thread and read her points about trading breaks and staying in until price breaks opposite channel. And see if you can maintain the self discipline to hang on or do you panic and bail prematurely?

Good day Laura! first of all thank you for this nice opportunity you have given to us.

btw i have a question regarding on the entry if all the prerequisite agrees, should we wait for the candle closing or no? if example we have a bearish trend and all we have to do is wait for the price to go to the upper band/channel should we wait for candle closing?

Hi. You do not have to wait for a candle close.

Waiting for price to go to the opposite channel is no longer required. It was an initial exercise in discipline, to help new Roadmap traders avoid getting in at bad prices. In your example, if the trend is bearish, I'd suggest looking to enter inside the channel rather than waiting for it to go to the opposite side.

Hi Tehee, as I understand, you should look for 2 higher timeframes on your dashboard (and it's not the RSi, but it shows if you are below or above SMA200). So if you are trading M15 TF, you should have CompRSi value under 40 (or 45) and M15, M30, H1 red.

Hello, I am wondering how is this composite RSI is calculated for each timeframe and eventually become the total number displayed in the dashboard?
For example, is it Average of RSI(2) + RSI(9) of M15, Average of RSI(2) + RSI(9) in M30 and so on, then all TF are summed up and averaged again?

Thanks

Hi Gedeh, the Composite RSI is average value of 6 different RSIs:
Inserted Code
CompRSI = (RSI(2 periods) on D1(close prices) + RSI(9 periods) on D1 +
+ RSI(2 periods) on W1(close prices) + RSI(9 periods) on W1 +
+ RSI(2 periods) on H4(close prices) + RSI(9 periods) on H4) / 6

Indicators dont work in any case as it is after price already booked. Rather use real time indicators OHLC of every candle.
The advantage of knowing....

After trading Roadmap for a few weeks, I've decided that the strategy doesn't suit me. I need to be able to look at a chart and make pending orders at places where I'm willing to take a trade. I don't have enough time to sit looking at charts, waiting to see something that makes me take a market entry.

Just want to say thanks to those of you who gave me feedback and helped me with this. It's very much appreciated. I'll leave the journal document up there in case anybody finds it useful.

Thanks again,
Peter

Great to hear - thanks for sharing.

This thread is now over 2 years old (time flies!) and it makes me very happy to know there are Roadmap traders, new and old, profiting from the approach.

Been trading since 2007 but never had the result as with Roadmap.
Entry on lower TF, let it run for a swing.
Small pos but nice pip movement.
Usd/jpy entry at 115,58, exit at 128,47

Hi Laura hope all is well
I have structured part of my methodology around the Roadmap for the last 2 years and use it to trade the SPX and US30 every single day.

It has worked phenomenally well from day 1 and even better after several years of trading it and adapting it to other aspects of my methodology.

Wishing you the best
Kevin

Doing well thanks Kevin - nice to hear from you again!

I know you have a comprehensive set of trading tools to choose from, so hearing that Roadmap still plays a part is wonderful.

After a couple of weeks and 256 pages here is my first post.

I would like to say thank you to Laura for using simplicity and common sense to explain her theories and strategy in a way that could make Richard Feynman pleasantly surprised. And also to every single person that contributed substantially to this thread trying to help people like me, thank you.

I took the trade when I saw a good direction of the price and a retracement to the ADR that could possibly continue. At the time of the entry, 1M and 5M were green and the RSI was around 60 ...ish, I was Inclined to close the trade once the LH was broken where you can see the small black line but I respected the strategy and decided that the trade is still valid if above the 200SMA. SL was just below the last daily LOW.

Please take a look at my chart and I am looking forward to your input and guidance.
