What constitutes a tick volume is... a 'matter of controversy', let's put it this way.

Don't rely on volume data unless you're looking at universal volume, (which I don't think is available to retail, at least not free). Volume indicators differ by broker, as it only looks at their own client volume. For example OANDA is showing very high volume for today, but FXCM shows only average volume.

Imagine if you will that any pairs only variable is it's lifetime low to high value and every single move in between is only caused by the complex geometric laws of wave principle. Now imagine 99% of conversation about why market moves happen is pure fantasy. And imagine hundreds of millions of traders are conditioned to fear the economic calendar. And that fear is being pushed by these meat puppets and their sock puppet accounts.

No problem. I used to make the same mistake trying to use volume to try to pick a top or bottom, not realizing that the volume I was looking at was not an accurate representation. If you’re really interested in volume then you should check out malcolmb14’s vsa thread, you’ll probably learn a great deal in there. I remember malcolmb from back in the day and had a great deal of respect for him. He was the main volume guy around here. I see his thread but not him anymore.

Personally I don’t really look at volume anymore, as I can see it in the candles. I tried dabbling with the volume profile indicator, but don’t fully understand it. I’ll eventually look at it again one day.

Still need 1270. Got a bear gartley pattern to send it back down.
Might need 78% @ 1329 to get the old gartley going. But it can start any time now.
I'm still gonna hold long tho, I might be getting a bad reading. Somethings not right here.

Looks like the same formation as earlier for a leading diagonal triangle seen in usdx just need to fly over upper trend line to termination at 78%.

Hi, if this is a bear Gartley formation, the top is 78% 1328* sell targets my previous target at 1270. Typically bear Gartley formation doesn't go beyond the low. So maybe target support is coming in around 1290?

If it goes for mega dive we got 78% pullback of the bull run at 1190 area.

I've got projection from 1 time frame showing support at 1270
I've got another projection different timeframe showing this could reach 1190
These waves are shortening by fib ratio's and missing targets. BAM!
Not only do the waves expand relative to fib ratio they're also contracting and falling short of expected targets by the same ratio's halving is doubling BAM BAM!

Trying to play a break of this level in either direction and after it completely reversed the first 5 times something broke in me haha.
8 times currently we've rolled over this area now are we done please can we move on.

Interesting stuff for sure. I suppose the usefulness and relevance of volume as a confluence could depend on the broker as I've noticed some patterns on my broker's daily volume that are relevant enough to note. But, I do think volume profile and point of control are more significant data-wise. I'll definitely dig on malcolmb14's thread for some brain grapes. Thanks again for the tips.
