Bugger and other expletives.
Have to post this as a lesson in inattention.
I was setting up a Dow Future trade earlier -see the dip into the water trade shown first. Then marked a line ( short brown line) as it marked a level to the left 33630 which gave me a point to short at.
Upper level 33651, near trend line served as a "got it wrong" point.
So I ponced around FF and settled on making coffee etc. came back to Pc and the price had gone below my entry point for a nice short BUT I had not set my Limit order in front of the ????£@!! entry target ( under 33630).
Lesson learnt -check my alerts and orders BEFORE poncing off to do other things. And I was waiting ages for this moment - price had retraced from my probe trade and was setting up for coming down to my limit order.
Did okay agin this week but still mess up like above !!!
And it's raining.

I'm stuck out-and-about waiting...waiting...and am missing whatever action there is. DAX looks like it would have been a happy hunting ground and no doubt the NAS100 will kick in for its usual end-of-week thrash. Haven't seen how the BB went but looking at the FTSE trade, it will probably have gone well.

Can't even do anything on the horses!

Ho hum. Life gets in the way sometimes!

Still sunny and warm though!

Well, if I am looking at the correct candle on my phone (not a certainty by any means, lol), it seems that the BB did indeed pay off - big time.

Nice further move down on FTSE since NTBB. +20 TP x 4 was in.

BillyBar was good for approx. +35 after the high break. The following up low break was good for approx. +25 so far.

Nice to see GBP/USD having a day again where it's not touching both ends for more than once.

All done and organised for next week. Another break on the hour to finish at DS2 to the pip. Been a good week. Still no Billy but there we go.

Yes the expert is missing some kind of gap/slippage control i think. I still wonder why it then took the trade at a even lower price. I mean if there was a gap up any market order should have opened for even a higher price but not anywhere below the actual high price of the established range!? And if there was a gap down it should not have opened a buy order at all because then any future price tick would not have broken the high price for the range at any given moment.

Maybe the expert is not really considering the actual high/low price of the range established that it should use for opening these orders? So it's more like looking at the range purely from a time based period defined and here for the fastest intervals of an M1 bar/candle.

If you get it somehow more accurate it would be great.

Further if the expert is already using market orders it might be great to have some further input for something like "MaxSpread=" where no order would be opened if current market spread at the moment of execution would be exceeded by such pre-defined limit.

Pending orders would be nice too as alternative if possible so you then at least know/see where the EA exactly placing these. I do use pending orders with the BillyBar trade all the time. Place buy/sell stop at the high/low then wait to get filled there.
