Last time I checked, Alco + tobacco were not found to be airborne viruses highly transmissible and deadly within a week or two of catching them.
I think you are still stuck in the the first week of finding out about Covid. How is the weather on January 12, 2020 right now?

I am well informed about COVID situation and why people die.
I don't relay on the news I do my own research.

Question is - dose life matter ? And should Governments need to do something about it.
Or only black lives matter ?
To me seems that only COVID lives matter.

COVID rules, vaccines and so on is meant to save lives ? It seems so.
And if saving a life is Governments priority then biggest impact we get if alcohol and tobacco is banned.

Example in our country 25 % of deaths is caused but alco + tobacco.
COVID deaths really tiny compared to that. But the force that we fight against COVID is not proportional, not even close.

Why Governments don't ban alco + tobacco is big money.
On our country's example 7 % of budget comes from alco + tobacco VAT and excise duty.

Money rules the world.

I admire your opposition to alco + tobacco. I am 100% with you on that but tying it to Covid is not going to work. You need to fight alco + tobacco on their own terms.
If you continue to say we should just let Covid run free because we let alco + tobacco run free, then you are going to lose support from rational people and be considered a wacko who doesn't distinguish one society's problem from another. Good luck on your plight.

COVID is a problem and we need to fight it.
But we have 10 x bigger problems and nobody cares and this is insanity.
And if I point to real problems then people tell me that I am stupid conspiracy theorist
and go and smoke relaxing cigarette. And then I point out that tobacco industry kill
50 % of they most of they loyal long term clients, they say we don't care and I must wear a mask.

" ... lose support from rational people ... " 1st I don't care
2nd you know it yourself people are not rational , people are emotional.

COVID mass psychosis is ruling that the world already a year.

Here are the 12 causes of most deaths in the USA in order of magnitude.

The list is outdated and doesn't include Covid death.
Approximately 500K+ died of Covid within a year.
That puts Covid at #3 or so.
None of these 12 causes can be prevented or cured by putting on a mask or receiving a vaccine (although attempts have been made at vaccines for Influenza)

To say that the government should eliminate alcohol problems and smoking death problems before attempting to eliminate Covid is absurd, but again, you say that you find your own news based on your research. So, maybe post some links, so we can examine the rationale behind your priority of treatment for the causes of these death and why Covid should take a backseat to these other causes.

1. Heart disease
Number of deaths per year: 635,260
Percent of total deaths: 23.1 percent

2. Cancer
Number of deaths per year: 598,038
Percent of total deaths: 21.7 percent

3. Accidents (unintentional injuries)
Number of deaths per year: 161,374
Percent of total deaths: 5.9 percent

4. Chronic lower respiratory diseases
Number of deaths per year: 154,596
Percent of total deaths: 5.6 percent

5. Stroke
Number of deaths per year: 142,142
Percent of total deaths: 5.18 percent

6. Alzheimer’s disease
Number of deaths per year: 116,103
Percent of total deaths: 4.23 percent

7. Diabetes
Number of deaths per year: 80,058
Percent of total deaths: 2.9 percent

8. Influenza and pneumonia
Number of deaths per year: 51,537
Percent of total deaths: 1.88 percent

9. Kidney disease
Number of deaths per year: 50,046
Percent of total deaths: 1.8 percent

10. Suicide
Number of deaths per year: 44,965
Percent of total deaths: 1.64 percent

11. Septicemia
Number of deaths per year: 38,940
Percent of total deaths: 1.42 percent

12. Chronic liver disease and cirrhosis
Number of deaths per year: 38,170
Percent of total deaths: 1.39 percent

Governments and WHO | World Health Organization know that alco and tobacco is bad and kill people.
and they know it at least 50 years and shoud have already banned since 1960.

I am not saying that alco + tobacco ban saves from COVID deaths.
I am saying banning alco + tobacco will wave 25 % of people.
and its appox 5 times more than covid deaths.

I am also some what inform about US situation.
also you can study CDC website, masks are not effective against covid.

Very good book I highly recommend to every person.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/How-Not-Die...s%2C221&sr=8-1

Number one killer is actually bad diet.
Main reason of Heart disease are high blood pressure ( to salty food ), bad cholesterol ( bad fats in food ) and quess what, also smoking
Diabetes for overweigh and obesity. Reason lot of sugar and excessive eating.

Yes some might be inheritable but big part up to people.

If it up to me I also would ban junk food chain restaurants

As far as I can read, CDC says masks are effective: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019...-guidance.html

There was an attempt made to ban alcohol (probation) and we know how well that worked.

A co-worker of mine who had had a stroke and was on blood thing medication, used to consume quite a bit of alcohol on weekends. I said to him that considering his stroke and the meds he took, he should not drink. His response was: "If I'm going to die. I might as well die happy".
So, those who want to drink alcohol or eat Krispy kreme donuts, soda, fried foods etc. will do so because the pleasure of consuming things bad is greater than death for them. I suppose the same thing is true about mask wearing as well.

Goods, its seems its updated.
In Estonia mask wearing is mandatory already months and we are making new records every week.
Odd , theory is that masks help , reality is different.

My point is 50 % of deaths are from lifestyle choices. Diet, alco, tobacco.

Lets keep fighting not only against covid but also lifestyle choices.

There are 2 types of people: those that thinks that a single-celled protein combined with synthetic aminos, vitamins and minerals is all the body needs, and those that thinks that it doesn't have everything the body needs.

edit: found a link I was looking for that might interest a few around here about cause of death:

(note: I have no idea how "correct" the study is, I haven't explored it in details, just providing as a matter of interest)

Shoud we stop fighting because its hard ?
Yes there are and will be criminals.

Lets legalize narcotics and drugs because they still exists and people sell and use them despite of laws and jailtime.

Again focus and resources must go to the things that give biggest results.
Is it better to save 7800 or 650 lives ?

Its insane. Total focus goes to 650 and nobody cares about 7800.
And reasoning is they want to kill themselves and why we shoud stop them.

Here you go again tying fight against Covid with fight against other causes.
The cause of death listed in that 12 order of death is more or less international.
No government has come up with the priority to defeat alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking as a precursor to defeat Covid.
You are alone in the world for the way you think things should work.

Imagine while people are dying of Covid, the government comes out and announces that they are going to ban alcohol to stop alcoholism first. Then they are going to stop cigarette production to combat lung and other related cancers. Then, they would ignore the other causes on the list of 12 and maybe focus on Covid.

You know, my friend, I think we should just let the experts run the show on Covid cause they know better what to do and they are doing it.
