Its been interesting 3 month experience with daily baskets. The belief that basket can be traded daily was given to me by Mrdfx hard work (post #19204). Since 1st of September I went live with real account running modified settings and also in parallel run account on demo fully unattended with #19204 settings.

10 week findings so far on live account:

On live account I intervened manually, chose days to trade/not to trade, excluded pairs and ran different starting times around London Open. There has been amazing weeks where there is only 1 stoploss event in 6-8 strings of quick profit taking. Account was up by 25% within 2 weeks. AND 15% lost in series of stoplosses by the end of Sep. Net gain by end of Sep 9% (not bad).

Since then its been very difficult to find traction and consistency. Most part of October was spent eliminating weak baskets e.g. 2-3 pairs at start and trying to pick good days for trading. A lot of early manual closures at BE, or with small losses. Net cumulative account gain at the end of Oct 2.5% only.

2 weeks of November - string of 4 profit takings, account up by 12%. Then out of the blue 2 SL on seemingly healthy baskets and cumulative return as of Between 1.Sep-13.Nov is 6% profit. Its still profit, right? But is it consistent enough to keep going? At the same time basket running fully unattended with settings from post #19204 is down by -26%.

At the moment confidence is slightly lost. While CMSM 17 gives reliable predictions on the day - the basket can be hurt easily with "noise" or fluctuations around the projected average price trajectory. A lot of times the baskets have been killed by short retraces and then it hurts to watch as it continues in right direction after the SL has been hit.

I will continue to experiment with:

- Slightly different opening times
- Different basket trigger values. It would be really good to incorporate some short-term RSI indicator for Virtual Basket, helping to trigger the basket at the right place instead of only pipvalues.
- Perhaps slightly lower risk level & smaller basket for more resilience to fluctuations

Share your experiences as well.

Enjoy the weekend

Heres the account growth chart as well:

For those who want to do a manual entry/exit, like eagle85, try these indicators and set files.

The Chart2 indicator displays the basket chart per the set files chosen, in the sub window1. The attached example use the GBP set.

v.88 excludes these pairs to trade GBP pairs only.
Pairs to exclude are: AUDNZD,AUDUSD,NZDUSD,AUDJPY,CHFJPY,NZDJPY,EURAUD,CADJPY,EURCHF,
EURNZD,EURCAD,EURUSD,USDJPY,AUDCAD,EURJPY,NZDCAD,USDCAD,CADCHF,NZDCHF,AUDCHF,USDCHF

The open time is to be set at the beginning of the week (this example has a bit late starting time, to get the thing started late).

The i-exposure indi shows pips gains/losses.

Good luck and stay green!

As you are aware, v.88 (or the ea) Open Basket is for BUY only. For SELL, you should change the TRADE CONTROL to Reverse All. For convenience, you can make another panel for SELL accordingly with a different magic number.

Heads-up regarding bug in v86.

v89 and v90+ had issues with Virtual Baskets
v88 was very slow to respond when closing baskets

Now v86 has thrown a rod into works - running default daily (post #19204) settings, it popped open today RB of 4 pairs, which is OK.

But then minutes later it started to add trades from the indicator list, which is not the way it should work as in this setting the VB is not updated after its opened.

So watch out - I don't really know anymore what to suggest. All the latest versions have some sort of bugs, try to find ways to work around them.

Take care and be careful with trading, getting daily baskets to run consistently is hard work.

I've just had a successful basket close using v88 and the default daily settings. I think overall v88 is on balance the best tradeoff so far, personally I haven't noticed a huge slowdown, but I haven't been analysing it that closely as you have, just my $0.02

Hi folks, some very good news!

Had a chat with Jess and while he is really tied up until December, he will then have some time to devote to further development of the Trade Monitor, fix some bugs and perhaps realise some new ideas as well.

Treat this as your early Christmas wish list

Cheers,
I

Monday weekly basket closed for BE.

After ranging in and out of profit most of the week I closed the basket manually today before the weekend. It got close to TP earlier in the week and in hindsight I should have closed it then, but at the time I thought it would go all the way to TP which it didn't. Anyway no loss and next week is nearly here.

3 months of Daily Basket trading concept is done, both on live account and using demo with default settings (post #19204).

Live account with my custom settings and CMSM 17 saw much of manual interventions, but despite that I am back at square one, meaning my yield is 0% since 1st of September since going live. Account peaked at +25% within weeks and luckily has not fallen into absolute DD. Some folks have done not so good at all.

In my live account there have been extremely quick basket closures with profit taken by less than 30 minutes, once even with 8 minutes. Most of the profits have been collected within 2-4 hours. But there have been also enough occasions where SL is hit within 1 hour or then slightly later during the day.

Well, 3 months is just a fraction of lifetime but the question lingers if this system is consistent enough to be traded on daily basis, even with reasonable amount of manual interventions (not starting weak baskets, collecting manually profits or cutting losses short, handpicking pairs, adjusting market entry etc.)

1) What is the optimal time for market entry? There seems to be no single right answer. Sometimes 1-2 hours after LO has produced great results. And enough SL-s to wipe profits away.

2) CMSM 17 is a great indicator but it cannot overcome the fact that it tries to predict unknown future of choppy price travel. Tried CMSM 23 as well for some time but did not get comfortable how to read its trade level strengths. Mr Eagle uses CMSM 22 with apparent success but its very much manual trading as I understand.

3) Trade Monitor is superb piece of kit (after Jess fixes some bugs and adds few VB options

Will continue to test and tweak it, lets see how it ends up.

Cheers,
I

Many thanks for the update as always grandaevus.

Can you explain a bit more about this updated version as when comparing to previous versions I don't see much of a difference in pair suggestions.
