Range break EA and some information on settings as promised. I found a few bugs and got them fixed (I think).

Only just got it today mate and I have been testing it just to make sure it does what it is supposed to do. I think with these range break methods, you can't really have a set and forget as such, but what the EA will do is take trades for you if you are not around, or fancy trading late at night (like Claudia's AJ method). It is always the take profit part that is highly subjective. If using on Billy's 12-4am method, I would personally not have it taking more than 3 breaks, because to recover from each loss you have to increase your lot size (or aim for more pips), and as Billy always says, it is easier to aim for a smaller number.

Like it - very simple and user friendly.

Have it on AJ from Monday as per the attached template.

Edit: put it onE/J too same settings.

Might be worth adding the option of days which to trade/not to trade ? Just a thought.

Wonder if it works on bitcoin (sorry Lem meant buttcoin) that's tradeable at the weekend for testing purposes.

@ Billy - add the advisor to opening post ?

Thanks Claudia.

I have asked the developer if it is possible to add a tick box for each day the EA should trade on. JP1 also suggested having an option to stop at the other side of the range so I have asked if that is possible as well. The EA should work fine as it is. But if anyone wants it with the 2 proposed changes, wait a few days for the revised version.

As mentioned above I've put it on AJ and EJ. Have also put it on the 00 - 04 break as well as the Billy Bar. I'm sure we'll have some issues with it tomorrow but it does look good.

See where we go - we know who to blame if things go wrong (not you) lol.

I am about to stick it on AJ to try it out on demo as well . If things go wrong, Billy has already accepted blanket blame for everything here lol.

I am guessing the AJ range we are looking to capture is 12am to 1:29am? My broker is 1 hour ahead so I will adjust accordingly. Just mentioning in case others are using it and they have different broker times etc.

Another thing I should mention - Claudia has set the template to take 2 trades. The way the EA works is that both these breaks could be in the same direction, or opposite directions. Say we break short out of the range looking for 15 pips. Price goes back into the range before hitting our TP, and we hit our 10 pips SL. As far as the EA logic goes, price is back within the user-specified range and whenever it breaks out again, it will take that trade, irrespective of which direction it goes in. Just clarifying that in case someone assumes if the first break fails, EA will only take the next break in the opposite direction. There is a way to do this as well, but it means the SL would potentially have to be bigger than the range, and stop and reverse has to be enabled.

Hi all,

t 08-02.
i am waiting to trade 08-00 15 minute bar break.
hopefully no skulduggery, price is just above the 00-00 4 hour range.

i do not want the low breaking then bounce back up off the 00-00 high.
we have plenty of time (11 mins) for something to happen.
Lets see, i am still trading it unless range becomes too big.
