AAL Jun19 13 CALL @ $0.30
Out of the following:
AAL Jun19 13 CALL @ $0.50 up from $0.30
In the following:
AAL Jun19 11 CALL @ $0.55
Added to the following:
AAL Jun19 12 CALL @ 0.45, bringing the average down to $0.71

Still in AAL Jun19 15 CALL @ $0.56 average

I don't trade spreads, I just trade straight PUYS/CALLS. The Fool does a lot of spread trading, so I'm sure he can answer.

what rules do you use to decide when to buy a call or put?

I buy extreme overbought/oversold conditions (provided the stock is not within a week of earnings and there is no major news within the last week).

My chart is showing it is more middle of the road and not even close to extremely overbought/oversold. So, for the way I trade, I would not trade it right now. But, of the nearly 400 stocks I watch, all are middle of the road right now.

All my trades lately have been airlines and entertainment stocks that have been hit hard and are at a cheap price right now.....just waiting for the economy to get traction again.

What confuses me is why do people put so many indicators on charts? What is the actual indicator telling them? Do they even know? Or do they think they know & it's giving them an edge? I see some charts with about 10 indicators on, I need to take 2 tablets after just looking at them, gosh.

Years ago there used to be a thread of people that showed all the indicators on their charts.....some were real and some I am sure (?) were made up just for the thread. Pretty comical, though.

I think the number of indicators is an individual thing. People use what they believe helps them in the decision making process. I use Bollinger Bands (including mid-BB), 5EMA, 10EMA, RSI and a couple of others I keep to myself. Seems to work out well for me....

some days ago I bot May22 $291 calls for $1.58, meant to leg in, thot it a busted trade, had a sell May20 $291 calls for $3.75 got hit today early, bought those back for $2.60 today AH, now still in the May22 $291 calls @ about a $0.45 debit, need a run to $300 for a megabagger.....

Spoos sticking at 2950 getting to be a joke....triple top

May22 SPY $291 calls now worth $6.35, I'm in for 45c debit per the spread trade noted above. This is why I spread....

As SPY on the Daily chart is hitting the upper BB and on the Monthly chart it is at the mid-BB, if it was my trade, I would take the money and look at something else.....with it hitting resistance, it most likely will not go up substantially, but if it starts to hesitate, the value is going to drop pretty quickly with only two days left until expiration.

But then, we have different strategies and different trading styles......
