since it does not occur to me that I immediately open a position in the right direction. it takes more time to win.
usually i need to open 2.3 positions as long as i can make a profit.
the essence is patience.

Please don't share your indicators on this thread. You may share how you trade but never promote it as 'the holy grail' of trading on this thread. I have my own system that works for me but there are thousands of ways to trade.

News is no match for W1 tf trend. If a news item spikes price action in reverse of the W1 tf trend, just wait for the dust to settle and see how the price action aligns with the W1 tf. Patience is priceless in such a situation. To give you a current example, the USDJPY is presently bullish reflecting today's NFP positive data but the W1 tf is bearish. Just wait and see what happens in the next 60 minutes.

Did you see what happened to USDJPY price action? The market drove it to retest yesterday's high, and it is now bearing southward.

Spending time and effort to study and analyse the charts when the markets are closed for the weekend would better prepare you for the markets you trade.

Completely agree that there's no holy grail in trading. In the past few years I've played with multiple systems and I've never succeeded consistently with any of them. They worked in some market conditions and not in others. It's only when I found a system that made logical sense and dived really deep into it (when it works, when it doesn't work) and put together other aspects such as money management/risk management that finally I saw some success.

Today I focus on price action, and even today I learn a little more about my methodology every single day!

I think the same, in fact there is no fail-safe system, if there were, everyone would know and would never lose. The market is never constant it's like a roller coaster goes up and down

While it is worthwhile to spend time with family and friends on the weekend, spending a few hours during the weekend to review trades undertaken during the week and analyse the markets in preparation for the week ahead would advance your skill as a trader. The number of hours spent will depend on the type of trader you are. A scalper will require less time than an end-of-day trader, while a swing trader - who likes to leave his or her trades open for a few days or more - will need much more time. Also, it depends on how many pairs you have on your watch list.

The ability to read the charts and get a good understanding of market condition/direction is key. But having the patience to wait for a feasible setup and then enter the market at the right location is the big deal.
