The EUR basket got a lot of people sweating today. But closed for now and another 100€ equity goal reached. The account is now up with a 1009€ balance.

Update

First cut off at $100.00

I was going to remove EAs to restart them. But I found out that you don't have to do that. I just right clicked on the chart, went to properties tab on EA, clicked ok. And the EA started trading again. I did not have to completely remove your EA. That way you don't have to worry about remembering the Magic numbers. Is that an ok way to do it?

Ok, I am running 2 demos. One is an ECN Zero Demo started with $500.00. The other is just ECN started with $1000.00. The ECN ZERO has slightly higher spreads, no commissions, no swaps. Regular ECN has commissions, lower spreads. I noticed that the regular ECN the DD went quite high and on the ECN ZERO is was about 1/2 in comparison.

What are your thoughts on this?

Interesting. But in my side, the ea did not open any trades on eurusd. Hmm... Any thoughts?

Thanks for the EA. I´ve been testing it in a demo account since yesterday morning, trying to understand its "way of thinking". So far so good.
I just have a doubt regarding the way it´s behaving on my account.
When EURJPY fell, about 2 hours ago it opened positions in the following order: 0.01, 0.01, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.05, 0.09, 0.15 and in EURUSD it opened the following: 0.01, 0.01, 0.01, 0.02, 0.04, 0.06, 0.10, 0.17, 0.28.
Why this difference in the multiplier??? Is there a different multiplier also for AUDUSD, AUDJPY and USDJPY??

It already managed to close everything safely but in case of a stronger trend (and this wasn´t even a stronger trend it was a fall of 100 pips in about an hour) it keeps on opening positions until when?? Is there any backstop or different strategy when the positions start getting bigger or you just start praying??
Is there any mechanism in the EA in case of very big and sudden movements (and i don´t mean CHF mayhem because that´s a once in a lifetime movement, but something like a Brexit kind of thing or a bit more softly a FED intervention or a big surprise NFP day) where it moves 3-4-500 pips in a day or 1000 pips in a week with almost no retracement.

Also i´ve seen a few minutes ago that it closed all positions in your account with about a 50€ profit for the day. Wasn´t it supposed to closed everything after it made 100€? Am i seeing something wrong??

What starting balance do you have? What leverage do you use? How big is your spread? What is your broker? Need a little bit more info, best with a screenshot of your platform to help.

Hi,
the opening of positions is dynamical. It depends on the broker's price feed. That means it is also different between each pair. It keeps pushing positions until it retraces and hits the hidden TP level for buy and sell orders which you can see on the right side of your chart.

Of course, grid EAs are always risky to work with, and managing your EA is the most important part of all. This is not a set and forget strategy. I will close my EA before NFP for example. I would have also definitely closed it before Brexit.

Regarding the closing. The EA closes all orders and stops trading for the day when the equity makes a 100$+. It is not said, this is reached within one day. Or I would have called the EA 100-Dollar-A-Day EA. That is not the case. Today it closed with 50 profit as it made yesterday a 50 profit as well.

Hi Robert,
I usually wait until the EA automatically starts again the next day and let it rest for the day. Don´t be greedy.
Regarding the broker. Of course, commissions play can add up. But in my opinion, you need the low spread to get your basket closed. The DD also depends on when you started the EA on which account. Only 5 minutes can make a huge difference in how the orders are executed and closed.

Alright, it seems like an initialization issue. Probably you have attached the EA and enabled auto trading afterward. This usually can cause some problems.
The smiley is not activated in the upper right corner. Remove and re-attach the EA.

@Paul...considering the big importance of the starting time, do you think it is better to let run the EA on 2 accounts with different start times instead of just one account for instance with possible higher lotsize at one start time?
Still being on testing mode, got my second TP today...but with very high DD on EJ, did manage probably only surviving because of a 9k demo account balance Unfortunately I made 2 mistakes...first did not waiting yesterday for next day start and second used 0.02 lotsize. Got max. 7.48 lotsize on EJ !

Yes, a different starting time and spread the risk over different accounts is actually what I´m doing. EJ has been really tough this week. My 200 account I started on Monday closed this morning and did not trade the entire day. You can experiment with the lot size sure. But not on your live account. That is the reason why I did not want to open the lot size input in the first place. 0.01 is the starting lot for me. No matter how big the account is.

I am sorry,but there has to be someting different with your EA because after the weekend we all started at the same time even i didnt start it on my liveacccount i started a 1k demo on Thursday and it doesnt matter one bit for this account that i have this dradown,but for thoose started a 200 dollaraccount today got fried my dradown is at 223 dollars right now and yours is at 47 dollars in and i use also IC markets like you....Of course it is demo versus real account,but i have checked prices with my live account and the prices are the same.......That been said its really proffiteble if you can start with a 1k account....

Hi, first of all, I can assure you we are all running on the same EA. You, me, and everybody else. Most people who started on market open Sunday with a 200 account are not into any trade today as the EA closed all trades this morning. For the comparison with the 223 and my 47. I closed some positions manually with a slightly less profit on EURJPY and reset the basket. I am not here to give individual people advice on how to manage their money, as even if you are with the same broker, the order sizes and placement of orders is different. As I stated in the first post, this EA is about managing money. I´m not saying that I close baskets manually all the time. 99% of the time, I let the EA do its job. In rare cases, I interfere with what it does. Another example will be happening tomorrow. I will manage orders, maybe close out baskets, so the EA does not trade on Friday. Last but not least, the EURJPY basket will most likely close in a profit. If not, that is part of the game. This is not a holy grail, nor the ATM-EA, but it is possible to make some money with it.

I too have only 40$ DD on a real account, but when I look at your account, you seem to have loads of positions open compared to me (max I had in the same time were 25-30). I don't understand why.
Also the sequence of open position lots are different. With me (I use ICmarket also), it is for AUDJPY for example 0.01, 0.01, 0.01, 0.02, 0.03, 0.05, your sequence seems different

Yes, I mentioned that yesterday I guess. The multiplied value and grid size is different for each person. It depends on many factors. It depends on when you started, it depends on your broker, and even if people are with the same broker, they are most likely on different servers with the broker. That means, different tick feeds can make the EA behave differently. That is how the EA works. It does not work with indicators, it works with the price. And I think this dynamic behavior makes it more unique.
