Why Are Rich Americans Getting $1.7 Million Stimulus Checks?

This is for business owners.. Business owners provide jobs for the rest of us. They often work long hours and have tons of financial responsibilities. To keep a business open during this shut down is extremely difficult. All the bills are due, but no money coming in.

I personally know many business owners who are in total panic. Fear of losing everything they have built up over many years.

Hmm thats worth a thought. In general the world is flooded with free aid money. When this is all over and time is to evaluate I think there are many questions that need answers. Was the endless free funding the right approach? did the money end up where intended? who benefitted etc?

Surely this is not surprising to anyone.

Yup, but it will mostly to come down to on how the business were structured... Basically VAR vs FIX cost structured, in-house vs out-source based etc... The one flexible with most of VAR expenses can cut the loses much better right... Because without INCOME there are no VAR expenses... Which is specially possible in US when you can rent/hire/fire much more than in some parts, in EU for example... But the ones that wanted to own everything, lease everything, leveraged debt (it surely does increase ROI when it rises, no doubt)... will be tested to the limits... And this CHECK will be depleted in a no time... So it will test the business/economic structures, to say the least... Yeah, it was radical drop, full stop basically, overnight, due to lockdowns... but still... Just my thoughts...

Receive a $1200 cheque, but you cannot write off $1.7M worth of expenses.

Or

Don't receive a $1200 cheque, but you can now write off $1.7M worth of expenses.

Which would mean you have more money in your account?

The 2nd option obviously.

Giving the rich the ability to now write off these expenses, means the government now receives less tax revenue.

From an accounting point of view for the government, which is better?

To pay out $1200

or

Reduce your income (tax receipts) by $1.7M

Obviously it's better to pay out the $1200.

The government is looking after the rich at it's own expense.
But why?
Because the rich funds the party.

trump did well by distributing the money to all Americans,here in Nigeria we have been isolated for 15 days now without any penny from government official,even for the fact they altered the word no movement,there movement on every street and corner except for business and transport simply because all the silly Nigeria government did not make a provision for citizen,in addition there many robber terrorizing every home for living.

If one is going to Trade then at least understand the difference between what might move a market and what is diversion.

No they are not getting a stimulus check, FALSE. They get a break on certain write-offs, so they basically get to keep more of their OWN money.
