Mouteki Trading

Two great videos posted today on my blog, both trades where executed and currently in profit. First video covered a short opportunity on the eur/gbp and the second a long opportunity on the usd/jpy. Highly recommend taking a minute out of your trading day to watch both videos. Who knows, you might just learn something.

If I remember correctly, Moutekitrader mentioned that he plots TLs on Mondays and then looks for a trade on Tuesdays. Perhaps it may be better to wait until Tuesday before taking trades.

Despite all the noise in the market place due to the ECB, I have taken a short position on the eur/usd at 1.3885 and have a entry order sell at 1.3845 with target @ 1.3755. Five minute chart attached below.

I spoke to Pete back in October, I believe, and he had some personal issues to deal with.

If I am using Demark's filters (qualifiers) before entering, the success rate is above 70% and it nets number of huge pips. Newbies tried to enter blindly at every breakout (as per Mouteki rules offcourse), they got hurt within few weeks/months. Sure, I am missing few good trades because of filtering but it really really has improved the win ratio.

Before applying the filters (Demark qualifiers), I was getting atleast one Mouteki signal each day (off 4H chart) for each pair. Only one in four were good trades. When I applied the filters, I am getting approx one or two signal(s) per pair per week.

Hint : One main filter for supply line break (upside breakout), the candle immediately before the breakout candle should be a bear candle and it's high should be below the supply line. Conversely, for a sell trade, the candle before breakout candle should be above the demand line and should be a bull candle. Just use this one filter and see it takes out 70% of bad Mouteki trades.

Another correction in Mouteki method is the profit target calculation.. he calculates the target adding (or subtracting for sell trade) from the close of the breakout candle. That's correct ENTRY point, alright, but the profit target should be added to (or subtracted from) the breakout price i.e. the price at which price breaks above (or below) the trendline. So, everything should be same except that we should count the profit target from the breakout price instead of the breakout candle close.

I am attracted to demand-supply way of trading. Courtesy Sam Seiden/Kenneth Lee. I am not any expert or a guru.. I am around 2 years in trading, not continuously. But I dont understand why people always expect success like a ready cooked meal -- that they can just go and eat. I am not an expert yet I looked around, found something, took a little effort to understand some plain English words and tried to apply it. I see a good improvement. It's still work in progress though.. I have to see these filters working for long term.

I wish to revive this thread because I think the method (Mouteki/Demark) deserve better. It was highly unceremoniously buried.

If you really want to revive this thread suggest that you write down all the rules in one page including your improvements and we can start from there.

Incorrect friend. Mr Mouteki or Tommy says in his opening document that profit is calculated from the breakout candle open, as you recommend. Some great food for thought in this thread, thanks.

But either way, is anyone still doing 'The Mouteki?' Below are some instructions taken from earlier posts here (via e trader pp.226) for Mr Mouteki's, and it appears Mr Tommy Demark's inspired technique. I'll be giving it a whirl. GB.
