how to plot centered moving average envelops ...are there any built-in indicators available ? for example in trading-view , metastock etc...

Hi parisboy,

can you help me out here , in plotting envelops ... can you please assist if i am doing it correctly. trying to do in motive wave software

below are the parameters

price range 160

octave = 160/ 8 = 20

chart = daily price chart

i am using displaced moving average feature , as per attached snapshot and plotting three lines to create 256 envelop using below , is this correct ....

1) 256 period displaced or centered moving average, which is offset by -128
2) 236 ( 256 - 20) period displaced or centered moving average , which is offset by -128
3) 276 ( 256 + 20) period displaced or centered moving average , which is offset by -128

similarly to plot 128 , i will plot 3 centered moving averages using 128 period + octave /2 offset by -64 etc.....

My best advice plot :

a) the normal Centered Moving Averages + Envelopes 256 / 128 / 32 displaced back -128 / - 64, - 16

a) the modified l Centered Moving Averages + Envelopes 256 / 128 / 32 displaced back , - 16 for the " of them.

And see what you prefer to use

below is monthly and daily chart of a stock .

stock monthly chart is from 2011- until today...stock price range around 160.

i have plotted displaced moving averages using 256, 236, 276 with offset -16 and then 128, 118,148 with offset -16 and 32,42,22 with offset -16 ..

what could be wrong here ...
