[quote=yonseo;8050156]It's been a while since this thread has been inactive and that is what you will expect from some of the best threads. After spending few years spending countless hours dissecting all of Greg's trades recorded from 2008 going down even to the 5m/15m charts, I have noticed that Greg too evolved in his approach to the markets into trading less for higher probability trades while making the same common human mistakes at times (i.e overtrading, adding losing positions). However it is his consistency and discipline with his backlog of experience that moves him forward. Perhaps this is why he stressed the importance of practice while keeping your risk to a minimum. No one can emulate and trade exactly the same way as Greg 100%. However one could apply some of his basic guidelines in identifying the highest probability opportunity to improve one's trading. The last piece of puzzle is knowing where and when to cut your losses and this will be the most difficult obstacle for most, if not all. He also once stated that given the right opportunity and with sound money management one could turn $300 into 30k in 6 months or less. The power of compounding is there if you have a high hit rate. I was able to turn $200 into $5500 trading this approach in about a month. After realizing that the blood sweat tears are inevitable in this game and only those with endless commitment will finally make it to the other end, this enlightenment is only the beginning for me and I want to tell Greg personally... THANK YOU My tribute to Greg: {image} {image} {image}[/quote

Congrats on your success Yonseo.. hows GBPJPY going on?

Hi, just wanted to say I've just been reading over this journal and it has helped me a lot with my strategy. It's great to see a trader who has become successful. I wish Greg were still around here so I could tell him how great I think his journal and trading are. I never used pivot points before but after seeing how powerful they are here and how successful Greg has been using them, I've incorporated them into my strategy and they have turned out to be the missing link I've been looking for to really kick it into high gear. Thanks for your thread and information Greg. I hope you are doing well.

Hi,
This is one of the greatest threads on this forum and I feel very lucky and grateful to Greg for making this journal. I've spent quite a bit of time going over Greg's trades and I'm sure there are many of you who have done the same. I've been trying to wrack my brain over this but haven't quite been able reach a definitive answer, and I was hoping that some of you who still visit this thread can help me out.

It helps to see Greg's account statement so you can see exactly where he entered and see how the setups lead into a move. But I'm seeing setups all over the place and in both up and down directions and wondering how he caught the right setup in the right direction at the right time. It's clear that I have to be more selective when it comes to recognizing setups. I've posted two of Greg's trades to illustrate an example.

Greg Post #1: http://www.forexfactory.com/attachme...9&d=1212048520
Before the up move that happened at the end (which is the move that Greg entered on), there was a significant down move that occurred after the uptrend, but Greg seemed to know this was a retracement so he stood aside on this move.

Greg Post #15: http://www.forexfactory.com/attachme...1&d=1213103825
Here you have a similar situation (previous uptrend, then you have a down move). In this trade, Greg entered on the down move and says there was an "obvious top" in his comment, indicating this was a reversal.

My question is, are there any obvious signs I am missing that says the down move in Post #1 is a retracement and the down move in Post #15 is a reversal?

Thank you, I greatly appreciate any thoughts or input on this!

I think Greg is just a master at reading price action. He definitely looks at the stochastics, and I can see why you would ask the question. Sometimes when he would say that a top or level is "obvious" it can easily be not so obvious to you or me. You really would have to see the price action unfold at the time. I noticed that regardless of his original analysis, he would be very quick to close and reverse a trade in an instant. That is reading price action at the time of the trade.

Please do not use other peoples Trading Journal if it does not contribute to Greg his style.
In that case start your own Journal.

Thnx

Hi all,

I am new to this thread of GW, and going through the first few pages. I just want to know if anybody has already created any document or file with all of Gregs charts from the start to the end. If so , could you please guide me.

Regards

I know that everything that Greg had to offer to everyone is all in this thread. I've met with Greg a bunch of times, but still everything that is to be said of how Greg traded is in here.

I noticed, one thing that was helpful to his successful run was the PoundYen falling from 240 to 130. Every method has it's day and Greg capitalized on his.

This is a good way to do top down analysis if you really immerse yourself in it. If you prefer more naked charts or more supply-demand type analysis, then pick your poison. I can tell you one thing about Greg. When I met him on many occasions to talk about trading..... when he looked at a chart, to study it, or to look for a trade, or to study it..... I could see his deep stare when he looked at a chart and really tried to make some sense of it. I saw his discipline, his quiet approach, setting alerts, doing pre-analysis, having a plan, puting on big trades with no stop because enough times on the balance it came back...... You should always do your own extreme critical thinking based on whats right in front of you in today's market with your own risk model.

Hi Price,

Thanks for your reply and feedback. I appreciate your help. My reason for the post above, was only to ascertain if the charts are available in some pdf or consolidated form in any one document. So that I could also save it for my reference and refer to the same. I am more interested in studying the charts and following each and every post in this thread.
I never said anything about naked charts or demand supply and my id is just another id thats all. NOTHING CONNECTED TO MY TRADING IN ANY WAY.

Thanks and regards
