20 pip SL on EURUSD is actually pretty wide, taking in consideration that for a week the average volatility is 37 pips and overall 73 for the last 52 weeks.
A good trader, not a wizard, should be able to do some damage with SL like this. However TP20/SL20 means 1:1 RRR... that is losing money management to me... and according to the books. Only scalpers, the real ones, can look for 1:1 or even less.

Just my view on the topic!

You make a great point. My reason for the wide stop is that the gangster broker flush you out if your stop is close enough. Can't let them get away with that anymore. If the trade goes against me, I keep a mental stop to get out manually (doesn't work in case of a fast market)

Tnx for the input, won't comment about the "appropriate" SL level(s), but TP20 is rather wide, in this (current) market at least... 10 years ago it was like a joke It was not maybe a good example for this (stall) market, awaiting famous words/forecasts from "gods" aka CBs... but should the market regain some respectable volatility... this (TP20SL20) "glory" would hold (more) true. Should the market continue/stall like this, I would suggest to lower the TP levels for shorter time-frames, yes

P.S. EDITED previous post.. Seriously miss-red the "20 pip SL" as "20 pip TP" for being pretty wide... But I do agree that TP20 is pretty WIDE at this market... Not so for SL20, because as I claim in many posts, threads... trading with SL20 (or even lower) is only for wizards, at least in my book, if they want serial wins (in a row) at least...
Can you afford to take that chance?

There is nothing wrong with 20 pips SL.. Stops depend on the timeframe you are trading.. Don't allow anyone to tell you what size SL to use without mentioning timeframe.. And stay away from passive aggressive haters..

H4 S/R Levels Until Frankfurt Open

  1. Nearest resistance sits at 1.1280 and then also 1.1293 is possible.. 1.1311 is major resistance!
  2. Potential nearest retest area sits close to MOFU zone: 1.1240/45 area..
