Thank you for your kind words, unfortunately ECB came out and unexpectedly said that GDP would be lower so that has complicated the trade, never mind just another thing to deal with, all part of the job.

Just an update on the Brexit thing and just my thoughts…

Last night the UK rejected the EU deal, so what can we expect now??? The facts are we know that it is very unlikely that the tonight’s vote will be for a ‘no deal Brexit’, most MP’s have made this clear and the prime minister has given her party a ‘free’ vote on the matter (no direction from her), then tomorrow there will be another vote (assuming that the ‘no deal’ is voted against), this will be to ask for an extension or not of the deadline (29 march 2019), again due to the limited time involved now it is likely the UK will vote for an extension to be obtained from the EU, now here is the only question (for me) that is not clearly already bias one way or the other ‘will the EU grant the extension?’, the UK parliament have made themselves look like fools in my opinion by not uniting behind the vote of the people and trying to somehow leave the EU without actually leaving the EU!, parliament as a whole has failed the peoples vote, they tried to secure a deal and that has failed, surely the honourable thing to do now is carry out the will of the result of the referendum and leave the EU, but as we all know what the people vote for and what they get from politicians can be two different things, so much for democracy and living in the free world!!!.... so the likely result is the same as ever ‘kick the can down the road’, how does this translate to our trading??... well if ‘no deal Brexit’ is taken off the table then the UK must get a deal (leave without leaving or not leave at all) this should be good news for GBP and EUR….. but what do I know?? Just my thoughts as I am still in battle with the E/U trade…. Make your own judgements on your trades.

If you look at the 3K’s you can see this bias (and it has been for the last few days, to see this bias I have outlined above).

And…. Opppss someone made a big fat finger on G/T yesterday, how many accounts did that kill??, this is exactly the type of situation where your stop would have been triggered and you could have been stopped out at over 4665+ pips not the 10,20,50 or what ever you placed the stop at, be clear a stop is an order to get out of your trade once the price is breached at the first available price.. be warned!! Look at 1 minute chart it was held there for only 4 minutes to slaughter all sitting ducks. for demo traders their stop would of been honoured but not for live traders (this is one draw back of demo V's live).

Totally agree with you - heard TM is going to vote against no deal herself and put her deal back to the House. Even though they may vote for no deal - it has to get on statutes and TM may use it as a stick by not doing that so you could get accidental no deal - who knows - anyways they are putting out no deal tariff stuff - some Tories are working on another initiative (Remainers and Brexiteers) and they want an extension - it is all a mess but sth may come out in the end. So if they vote for an extension that does not trap UK but not sure what it will resolve til they change her plan.

If there is a ‘no deal Brexit’ then there will instantly be a hard border in Ireland, something they are all trying to avoid by getting a deal, which I can understand, no one wants a return to trouble it may cause, the DUP, and most of Labour will not vote for a ‘no deal’ and the conservatives have a ‘free’ vote (the party is clearly split on the issue) which why I say I believe the ‘no deal’ will be taken off the table tonight and the UK's limbo will continue for who know’s how long? As you say complete mess.

Your discussion with Alexandria is interesting since you should know at least some of the UK clue - what is the h... going on?
For those who got married with GBP pairs it's even of more intrigue. All the trading is rather a kind of gambling at the moment.
Is it A "know your enemy"? Are you of that power to adapt and flow accordingly along with so nervous PA spikes? Is your money management robust and suitable as well? B "Do you know yourself"? Was there 4500 pips move?
Most cash seems to be there now (sharks' food). Hard for GBP addicts - retailers (liquidity providers) and easy for those able to comply with C "The wise warrior avoids the battle".
I have temporarily interrupted my playing since A and B and, actually, have been fighting the "addiction".
I would also be eager to learn how to trade those 1 minute 150 - 200 pips spikes (4500) but not losing both stamina and money.

different times and different pairs require different money management skills, you must learn how to trade your account size to the correct trade size accordingly.

for me i find it hard work trading the 1 minute charts now, have plenty of practice and can do it but i prefer to trade longer trade times/frames now, i trade G/T a lot and was a trade when that happened but was not at my computer when it happened (and i was short), would of done well out of that if i had been at my desk but i was not, the swaps on a long are a killer on this pair and you can only really trade long for very short periods of time like you say in the 1 minute chart.

EDIT... just to add, all the trailing stops and any pending orders would of fallen to the same fate as the stop losses here, they are all orders to get out at first available price once triggered.

Thank you very much for the pictures and your elaboration. I am of opinion that I must learn and learn as long as I am alive. I have never tried the G/T and will take a closer look at what the Beast is alike as well as my broker's conditions (swap, spreads, etc.) in this regard. Edit: have checked G/T with my broker's platform, unavailable. They offer E/T as exotic provided rather peculiar conditions. But E/T dance will not be G/T way, completely different story, though
As I wrote in my previous post, I am in a break to reset my mindset. Since it is just a hobby (hope not an addiction), I am free to just observe and take no commitments for a while. If peace is a bit disturbed, a reflection pause would not be excess.

P.S. After resetting, again by the trading wheel. I am looking forward to meeting those 4665 (or more?) pips gap. As far as I can recall, Fti mentioned once a historical swift drop about 10000 pips...

OK….. so on G/T same thing happened last night at the change over to next day I now notice, I have checked some other online charts now as this is not normal and very suspicious activity, I believe now this is my broker doing its own sweeps of the stops/orders, one rule my broker has is for the first 5 minutes of the days change over we can not trade, which does not bother me or affect anything I do, they are using this period of time to sweep stops/orders here in this pair for the last two change overs, I have seen this before, every broker does it in one form or another and mine is no exception, it is an ‘out of order ‘ practice but they are allowed to quote any price they want, again this is just another thing we are up against as traders, as fti says there are no friends in trading we are all sometimes with and others times against each other, this is I think way out of order of my broker (not that it has affected me) to do this during a time which we can not trade…. Remember the enemy is everywhere so be prepared and use sensible sizing rather than constantly relying on stops/orders, they have their uses but do not rely on them saving you. This is why I trade with a no rule and by any means policy to create a profit.

Hello Phil,

Thank you for the warning. I think one of my rules must be:

"Be always careful once switched on the trading platform"

Then, totally agreeing with your point, to me, I should stick to the "no rule" in accordance with AoW whereas Fti's Preservation of CAP is paramount.

G/U and E/U where are we at now???, so the voting went the way I suspected it likely would, now the situation is the UK still has to get the EU to agree to the extension, this will happen on Thursday, but before that the UK prime minister is still going to try get another vote in parliament on her deal, the last time the deal was overwhelmingly rejected, so unless Mrs May can get further concessions that radically change the deal, it is likely to go the same way, the vote for this deal will be on Monday or Tuesday because at the moment the UK is still destined to leave the EU on 29th until/unless they get approval for the extension, what does this mean for us trading wise… one word ‘confusion/indecision’ and again you can see this in the 3K’s from yesterday hence my warning to ‘be careful’.

Yes, it is a complete mess, last thing the UK needs now is the PM resigning and this being prolonged even further.

What I am trying to show here with these posts on F/A is how they help form the daily bars/action and so you can from that get a better understanding of the sentiment/drivers behind the moves. But as always just my thoughts on what I do.

It looks (to me) like a ‘bexit hedge’ is being taken out this morning (uk opening – 12 noon) so far, G/U down and E/U up.

Big USDX gap down and continuation also this morning to note.

So new developments for Brexit saga, at last someone with some common (no pun intended) sense (the house speaker) has ruled that unless there are some significant changes to the Brexit deal it can not be voted on again in the house of commons, EU have stated that there will be no renegotiation at this stage of the details of the current deal and no extension without a solid detailed plan to move forward on, so where does that leave us trading wise…. Uncertainty!!! All the way, the market hates this and will often react to this in the usual way, so what to expect/suspect now… you should know if you have been doing your homework and trading for a while if not then watch the market and take note…. The clues have been there the last few days.

BUT.... as always be prepared also for the possibility of the unexpected. nothing is FX trading is for sure but that is one reason why we use scouts.
