Coming back here after about two years and after many personal things, I must say that it was like coming back to an old friendly place, like nothing ever changed. Although it obviously was really strange to not read from Billy any longer which feels very strange after I was able to track down old names via PM that seemed to have gone to oblivion. But all know that and I cannot contribute any wisdom there, just hoping he is fine and has his reasons.

There were few threads and people bringing me back to troll infested FF and this place was definitely one. In the beginning I mostly came for the funny comments, then understood the amount of knowledge and expertise people share here. Some things I understand only now, because I have never stopped trading since my beginning in 2013 and most of the stuff back then I simply did not know, not to speak of the undeveloped trading mindset lol ... This is an eternal topic however ...

Any way, to make it short and less pathetic lol ... This is definitely a special place and group to make trading less lonely and likely also more profitable for its members even though nobody can trade exactly as the next guy. Lem and pip killing the DAX, Claudia nailing GBP BOs, I myself trade my intraday swings via pivot zones.. and some swings from daily and H4 R/S. Hope my charts are not too confusing lol...

It has an enormous potential and fun to be here, I just want to say that.

Here is probably one of the most textbook charts you will ever see.
This is a daily of Goldman Sachs

I guarantee Claudia knows what to do on a retracement back into the 220-225 area.
If we rally from here and you can get a position....there is at least $8-10 per share to be had in quick order!

Interesting one - cool chart. If you're trading equities then volume is important - might have misread your post the other day but you did mention etf's.

Think night shift catching up.

To continue with the GS chart...here is where I use the VP on the right side.

The down move was done with virtually no volume......which means the complete lack of buyers and aggressive sellers. Any retracement should be met with significant selling.

Now, the second part of this question....where should you find support. The answer is quite simply to LOOK LEFT and find the most recent place where it is obvious that there are buyers.

Last one for GS

Now we see that our H&S pattern is part of a MUCH larger H&S.

When this breaks, look out below. I will be using Put options to get a short position that has at least 6 weeks+ until expiration in order to catch the first hard down wave of this move.

I don't trade US stocks but could be tempted. Are you using level 3 ?

Ja alles wunderbar! Equities and ETF's are it these days. I retired in Feb and have the time, plus most of my $ is in retirement accounts, so it only seemed logical.

Du Brauchst schlaf, denke ich ( I am back in the US now so I need to stay in practice with my Deutsch)

Yes, I am. The nice part is that with daily charts, I spend about 1 hour in the evening and find new positions and where to move my stops for the next session. I use options to keep the risk even more under control but still have the same profit potential.
