Once you've played around with the settings do this -

Go to Charts then Templates then Save As.

You can now add that template to any chart.

The other option is my template.

Download and put in Templates.

Restart then Charts/Templates etc

At #10 an even shorter way is to go along to the indicators tab on the mt4 top bar and clicking on that opens a drop down menu containing all platform indicators.

Once you've adjusted all your settings, save as a custom template and then it will stay the way you have edited it so you don't have to re-edit the indi every time you attach it to a new chart pair.

You have to remember that by using spread betting broker, all you do is stipulate the amount per pip you want to either bet or to risk.

Platform works it all out.

So as Billy says, you could want to win 5% of £100 which is £5.

To get that £5 win, it's then £1 per pip you bet.

I resisted using SB platforms for ages, too old school - but now I love it.

Hi Inception,,, i will never give out a 100% explanation on fixing a failed trade..(or i will be got at if found out)
I have over months and months told what i do though..
Lem knows how i work and Claudia has a good idea.

My trades are all based off counter and clawing back the loss..(sometimes all at once) and (sometimes a few points at a time)

A clue is here. Suppose over 5 days i should have +5 +5 +5 +5 +5 =25%
example..... OR +5 +5 +5+ +5 +7 =27% that is +2% extra..

I then take that 2% away from the 27% and keep it separate.

so 25% & 2%.

suppose i do this weeks running,i will then have 50% & 4%.

I get a Fail and i can if i choose use that 4% to off set my loss...
example .. i have 50% & 4%, i lose 17% SO 17% -4% = -13%... i have less to fix.

SOME PEOPLE ARGUE THAT THIS IS A LOSS, they have a point but it is like a loss leader in a store..

The above is part of what i do... ,maybe more to follow.......

AU.

Here is an attached chart of AU 4:00 BREAK bar. (5min).

First break is south. It did give 5.5pips first. Depending on commission + spread. Might not be enough. So it retraces.

My questions here: Would you close it when it crosses back? so basically, you are B/E. You move SL (or mentally have it) to BE+spread/commission as soon as it goes back to the line or give it a chance to bounce back and give the full 5 pips?


Second, as soon as it goes back and if we decided to close the trade flat (BE+1), you would reverse as soon as it crosses back and take the counter trade back into the body. But this time set the SL at 5.5 pips (the new bottom formed by the false breakout) and then wait for it to make the 5 pips in this direction. It has worked in this case.

You tell why, I wouldn't just keep going for BE+1 each time it goes back and forth? I would say that the new formed low can be considered a resistance. So it is not a random level anymore.

Second example is a straight one. It did work immediately.
I've put the SL at around 16.5pips. previous swing low. I don't know if I am doing it right but I am trying to get a more logical approach to this so that I can print it into my DNA

The only issue is that if it would hit my SL the second time. That's almost 15% to recover. Where to take the counter trade? Or is it a situation where it is advisable to just avoid a trade?
