Possible crash in the US markets?

What do you think about a possible crash coming on US markets, similar the 1987 one??

Seems like there are no buyers, and maybe the markets will not like another rate hike

Folk need to take on board the unprecedented (in modern times) YoY rise the main USA indices experienced last year, due to the Trump pump. Nasdaq up circa 40%, certain FAANGS up 50%. The only reason such irrational exuberance occurred was due to the anticipated tax cuts. Earnings weren’t that great and hard data wasn’t supportive.

Folk also need to take on board that close on 80% of corporate debt, raised by large corps from 2010 - 2018, went into stock purchasing and not investment into, for example, plant and machinery and technology. Buying up stock (when the base rate was lower than 1%) ergo making it scarcer, contributed to the massive index rises, witnessed from 2010 onwards.

Now we’re in a situation were USA interest rates are forecast to rise to 2.75%. before the year is out, cheap borrowing is finished. So the Fed and FOMC has a choice, save markets, or the bond market and wider economy? They’re painted into a corner and so far Jerome Powell doesn’t appear to be Trump’s bagman.

There will be no US stock market crash at the moment.
The actual correction is the fight of the Wall Street with the new FED chair which occured several times in the past.

So, the one in the 1987 was not a crash...it was just because of Greenspan!!!
