Hello I find my self really struggling with trend so I have USDJPY on a daily and have drew out what I think I still don't know if its correct because according to your Back to Basics video it cant be considered a dow trend unless it breaks that low so can you please help am I close?

can you please explaindont get this trade at all. I Get your weekly for curve but your daily for trend how is that a downtrend? and then the zone in your low time frame completely confused here can you help? I was introduced to SAD from OTA and they teach that if high on the curve and the trend is up then you go to your big picture supply on your trading timeframe and look for a zone and if the trend is down and high on the curve then follow trend in your trades are you following the same criteria?

Regarding your question, that is one way of trading that level for sure but as you know, there will be other things to assess before deciding on taking the trade, for example the quality of the zones up there.

1. Yes. If one is trading the economy of the euro area versus the british economy it may complicate things looking at what the economy of the US is doing. That information may be a "nice to know" but in my own trading it is not a "must know". Others i am sure will be different

2. If my understanding is correct, the Nifty is the indian index and TATA motors is a stock within that index. If that premise is correct then No, is the answer to your question. With stocks one may be better off looking for a stock that is in line with the broader market rather than against it.

3. I don't trade indian stocks but yes, it is possible i used it as an example at some point. There are several resources on the internet regarding intermarket relationships. Not every market has an index though. You do have markets that are often correlated but correlations are not 100%, as you know, noting is. So there are correlations for example between oil and the USDCAD or the CADJPY; between gold and the commodity currencies AUDUSD and NZDUSD etc

Good to meet you.

I don;t recall going over the trend of this market in a back to basics video.
If i did i would have probably said something along the lines of "we do not use momentum lines to define trend".

Trend within the way i apply the S.A.D methodology is defined by the inter-relationship between the supply and demand levels
So when supply zones are being created and respected and demand zones are being removed we have a downtrend and opposite for an uptrend, demand zones are the ones being created and respected in that instance.

The zone was used because it met the minimum set of quality requirements i look at, including but not only the factors you speak of.

I just took a look at the chart i posted. I don't see anywhere on there where the daily trend was identified as down.
The annotation reads "daily chart entry". If i recall, one of the entries was taken off the new daily supply that was created at the time, as shown on the daily chart. However, there were other entries within that level on the 4hr chart which was not posted on this platform
Going from the explanation given above about trend using the USDJPY, the trend was sideways at the time because supply was being created and we had not fulfilled the criteria for a downtrend.
