Self-Evaluation : +40 pips. I think this entry was straightforward with the SAR hit in full uptrend and MACD up. I had planned to enter off H2 ema support hit but missed my entry because I fell asleep. When I woke up the market had only moved up about 5-6 pips so I took the trade anyway.

Sorel, The-Force, Bseverma, I wish to take nothing away from your PSAR hit, with trend, +40 trades, however a question for Dana and or others. There was no mention on your three trading plans regarding the Eur (German Bus) News release. I'm wondering why. The rules state that during major news releases trades are exited 5 minutes prior to the release, which was not done. So I'm confused. Am I misunderstanding something?

It's not a major, Red, News announcement.

it was only news with Moderate impact Amber flag.

i think generally this news only has a light impact on the market, however for some reason today it had major, win some lose some i think Tsid.
sometimes the markets don't need a lot to get them moving.

have a look at Sterling at the moment, one sentence from the right person and it went crazy

Yes 50 pips is a major move, but there is no way you would know that would happen prior to it happening. Occasionally Yellow and Amber News events do cause surprises or bigger moves, but we can't not trade every single event risk, otherwise we would down tools everyday.

Thanks again. I much appreciate your replies. I certainly realize any event, expected, unexpected can significantly move the market at any moment in any direction. Just clearing up some ambiguity in my own mind regarding the rules.

Hello Traders,

The seemingly daily unscheduled news releases coming from the White House and Washington, is keeping me out of the EU. So I'm switching back to the EJ for a while.

I noticed a couple of you took this trade. I just got in a little sooner. It did go down a little further but, not more than about 7 pips. Here is my plan with entry, offering a slightly different perspective.

Daily: Open above Purple.
ROMAR: Support
EMA: Support
Parabolic: Support

Notes: Horsemen up. DB / SAR up with Magenta and Green Divergence attach below 0.0 FIBO. Trend EMA arrow up. MACD zero cross arrow up. FIBO down.

H2
ROMAR: Support
EMA: Support
Parabolic: Eliminated

Notes: Horsemen up Purple, in slider with White down. DB / SAR up with Magenta Divergence attach at 0.0 FIBO. Trend EMA arrow up. MACD zero cross arrow up. FIBO down.

H1
ROMAR: Support
EMA: Support
Parabolic: Eliminated

Notes: Purple in tight with White and Smooth down. EMA holding support.

Final Notes: H1, H2, and Daily in sync with up, trend. H2 and Daily, BB’s opening up, for the market to continue long. Market is in a consolidated up, trend. I will enter long position off H2 support. Looking for H2, SAR hit around EMA, to reenter up, trend.

Adjustments:

Long: Entered long position on H2, 0:00 mid candle SAR hit below EMA at 38.2 FIBO. Set TP +40 SL 40.

Result: Took +40 from the market.

Evaluation:

TP hit +40 pips.. All charts in sync for the up trend.. We had 40+ pips to Daily '0' fib.. Uptrend rules were followed at entry.. Took entry off support 2h ema with SAR and a positive MACd bar.
My Trading plans still needs some work. For starters There was hidden divergence on top of the 4h and 2h at the time of entry this was not correct on my trading plan..
More studying ahead!

Other notes;
Daily '0' fib has been hit, fib will reset with a new Daily bar... Green Divergence on top of Daily, 4H, 2H... MACd up on the Daily, 4H, 2H
I hoping to post my next trading plan later today. As the rule is one trade pre 24hrs

This post is for all you traders that went long. To begin with I would had never taken the trade that everyone else did; and here are the reason:

1. At the time of everyone's entry White had crossed Purple.
2. At entry the market was below Smooth and Purple.
3. DB on top SAR on the bottom

With these three factors you are in consolidation, and with DB on top and White crossing Purple, you have a greater scenario of going short. Everyone that pulled the trigger going long did so with a greater risk of losing your trade. The short never produced because of the announcement.

All of you was very lucky in getting your trade with the announcement. Resistance had control; especially with the DB. That 50 pip hit on the announcement could had gone the other way. Bottom line - no one should had been in that trade.

ive been looking over the chart all day to figure where i went wrong as i wasnt sure regarding the announcement. (basically just thought it was the trend that done me.)

cant produce the snap shot as ive written all over it, but below is the 40 pip loss

One major problem with announcements - and it doesn't matters if low or high impact - you never know which way it will go or how many pips. Being in a trade with any release is totally at risk of losing.

I too was struggling with this one. Where everyone went long I stayed out...feeling uneasy. Not understanding why. Your explanation totally cleared that up for me. Thank you too RE adding clarity to my news release question. So much to learn!
