I say it's a loop because I take issue that if it is truly live why don't they just leave it running ? I've looked at this loads of times and you never see any other satellites out there in the darkness. The guys who have been up there all have different accounts too. One says it's a light show, another says pitch black. Not even bothering to get their stories straight. Looks like a movie to me. You never see any plane trails zooming round below either.

So the image you saw through the telescope was something you could make out and clearly identify as the structure they call ISS ? Or did someone direct it at a shining light and say that is the ISS ?

You're just being a cantankerous, grumpy old git now.

Think about:

1. Lunar eclipse. The earth's shadow is cast across the moon and the shadow is curved across the surface of the moon.

2. Time zones. The earth is rotating around the sun and the sun is illuminating one side whilst the other side is in darkness.

3. The gravitational force is pretty much even the world over. This can only happen with a sphere. Gravity is the force between two masses and as you are stood on a sphere, there is the same amount of mass under you wherever you are. Therefore you weigh the same at the same altitude whether you're in the UK or Australia. Actually you are fractionally lighter on top of a mountain, as the ratio of your mass to the mass underneath you is less.

On a flat plane, the gravitational force is greatest in the centre, as that is the centre of the mass. This means that the pull will be towards the centre. If you are stood on the edge, gravity would pull you sideways towards the centre and not straight down. So, it would actually be very difficult to fall off the edge.

So why Nasa using green screens, bubbles in vids, harness etc etc lots of flaws etc etc why ? why ? Why do they need to do this stuff if it's all above board ?
