So I have a couple of questions about the daily break method.

1. For the daily break method, does it matter what time I my bars set to create a new bar?
2. When talking about breaking the previous daily high or daily low, what constitutes a break. 1 pip above or below. 0.1 pip above or below. So if the previous low was .79325 (AUDUSD)as example. What would constitute a break to make the trade?
3. Base on the above do you just set an order and then monitor it once its filled?

Sorry if these are dumb questions guys. Better to ask than to wonder.

Got shorts in from dp - bit slow with no news.

Been playing ea again (demo) back to basics - do like this thing. Where's sb ?

As Claudia has said, the AU, GU and EJ are traded on the break of the H4 candle 04:00 - 08:00 uk time...

I also run The DAX but on the block across the 06:00 - 08:00 candles uk time.

I run my own variant of Billy's theme with these - it's the same but different .

The original DAILY Break of the EJ, isn't really run by anyone here anymore (though slowbrain still tinkers).

Yeah, I'm going to head off for lunch until Billy's Afternoon Delight draws me back in.

I just never have the time to get my head around the ea. I don't know if SB had gotten fed up with it. I do know that BO has been playing with it and has had success with an interesting variant.

1: Most of us here trade UK time, either directly or via charts from a UK-based broker or another that will tie in to UK time.

2: We trade lines here. A break is a break is a break. In fact, we have also been known to go in before the break, on momentum - but that's another story.

3: I don't use orders. I'd say no one here does. If I'm wrong, I will stand corrected. In places they can be useful - for setting counter entries for instance.

It may be that if you are only running the original Daily EJ Break, then orders may be the way to go. Billy will let you know once he tears himself away from his new gf .

There are issues with running the Daily EJ-Break. That's why we don't run it any more.

Billy, I was wondering about the following situation. If you have a trigger and it fails you then open a counter on the other side. If this then fails do we have to wait until the next day for a trigger, or can we take the next trigger again (on the opposite side) when it occurs the same day? Cheers

I'm liking the F40 more and more. It pretty much mirrors the DAX but doesn't have the insanity attached (much). The only problem is that gap it throws in at the UK Open. Happens a lot. I'm looking at the workability of the move from the 06:00 - 07:00 bar but the brokers can mess you around that early (as you know). Plus I get little enough sleep as it is, lol.

Guys - I would suggest a quick read of the last month or so's posts. We have had a couple of new additions to the crew in that time and they have asked and had answered all these questions (and many, many, more).

You take the next trigger whenever it comes.

USDNOK just hit the perfect bounce. Taken at the actual bounce and no waiting until the DZ / WZ influence but both entries worked.

I agree going over at least 2 months of the posts will help a lot in answering questions. I actually spend all last week only reading and writing notes on this setup. And there are a few things that seemed to contradict each other when going over different posts, that's why I decided to ask. Just to be 100% sure.

I feel like I'm speaking for Billy here and as I said, he'll get back to you once he comes back in, however as you're here and now...A fail is a fail when it breaks but doesn't make the +5% (+10% for stats). If it goes all the way back through, triggers but then doesn't hit it's target, then that is a double-fail. This is a bit of a misnomer though, as that trade would have been in a counter and the bad trade will now be in limbo. The next trigger - wherever and whenever it comes, will unlock that held trade and we move on from there.
