{quote} Hey T, Heres some charts from yesterdays SPX500 action Asia UK and NY... 1 minute charts of all and a 5m.. These are the charts I trade indices, live, in entirety... The NY box is slightly different than the 12 bar 15m Asia/UK box.. Its an 18 bar 5M box...very specific to US indices. Dont want to get off track the Roadmap theme here but just saying up front in case anyone notices and asks why (for currencies metals etc in NY I use 12 bar 15m box) Have a look and hopefully that answers your question 11 pm here in Vancouver...

And a stab at the cable chart London and US times - Fair Value gaps? - now 3:10pm UK time.
A first time effort and I know I have a lot to learn.
FVG drawn on 15 minute chart then down to 5 minute to trade.
Critique welcome

Hourly low ; 15 minute and 5 minute FVGaps and a messy one minute !
Food for thought for myself ? maybe so.
My research continues.

Dax - breach of 15 minute high followed by return and potential long bias.
Then down to 5 minute and 1 minute chart for executions
An experiment decision making with assisting Roadmap. Ideas borrowed from ICT videos and Flying Dutchman thread.

I have reviewed ICT and never quite understood it. However seeing what you did seems to be very similar to what i do now. Once you see it you cant un see it and it works great inline with the road map. I typically trade on the m5 but when you look at those FVG's on something like a 1 hour and it coincides with the m5 its very powerful. Sometimes everything adds up and I can get in on the m1 for ridiculous R:R. Keep it up

The FTSE instead of the Dax at a leisurely 5 minute per bar time scale.

EU chart 5 minute. The blue box is a 15 minute level of price action.
From about 8am price shoots up to Previous High and wanders along it. Between 10 and 1130 price forms approximate Highs. 10400 level is where price again bounced off previous high and began to break for a short within the channel. That 1.00400 line was attractive to price since it returned to it again before resuming short.Target was the 1.000 line below. it actually hit the "open" line. But okay for me. In fact I surprised myself with the trade by hanging on.

Last trades for the week. Only entered the 1st two with TP at 140.00. I went back to bed after the 2nd trade but the 3rd one would of been valid as well.

Yes i know what you mean about head hurting. Sometimes it will be clear as day then other times you blink and now you become lost. Its so hard to not over complicate things too. For me i really like using the H1 as an overall daily direction and will trade in line with it. I then wait for price to come back to what i call zone areas on the H1. From that move on when it makes new highs is when i look at smaller zone areas on the m5 as continuation/road map entries. And to Further complicate things i some times enter on the m1 based on the zone areas of the m5. I think you untimely see it based on your markings and comments. What really helped me was staying with the larger time frame. Your long until proven wrong (a new lower low created)

Just got back from a day out and seen your post. Brilliant explanation. Patience, analysis before open, and discipline is king. Roadmap was a great start to being a better trader and with further study I might reduce low probability trades.

Hey ChubbyWookie, I was curious about how exactly decide which bar or part of the bar to enter? It seems to me that maybe you are waiting for price to kind of bounce a little bit off a low and then enter. However, have your considered just buying before the bounce, as price pushes against you? I've marked pwithotential alternative entries in the attachment.

I trade in a similar way to you (albeit on exclusively the one minute timeframe). I used to do the "waiting for it to bounce, and then enter" strategy. However, at some point I realised that there is little information that is gained from waiting for the bounce. Like, even when price is not going to reverse back into the direction of the trend (i.e., the trade is going to fail), it will bounce in a way suggesting it will be a good trade. So, waiting for a bounce doesn't confer an advantage and gives away some additional profit to the market. So, at least for my strategy, I found it helps to just take an educated guess about where the bottom of the pullback will be and enter. Of course, it's very unlikely you will get the exact bottom, but I find it's usually a better entry than waiting for price to appear to resume. If you can buy in at an extreme point, it also gives you more wiggle room to get out at breakeven, rather than a loss, if price stalls at the moving average and clearly is not going continue.
