Wanted: Good MT4 Broker Offering 400:1 Leverage

Can anyone suggest a "good" broker that offers a MT4 trading platform, 400:1 leverage on a mini or micro account, and is not plagued with problems that make you regret opening an account?

That may be asking for a miracle considering what I have heard so far, but surely there is one somewhere.

I know FXCM offers that on micro accounts, but I keep hearing so many bad reports on them here that I am skeptical of them.

I need some suggestions so I can try a good trading strategy that would work better on higher leverage.

Thanks.

Why settle for 400, why not go 500!

I have no idea what they're like but how about Alpari?

Alpari UK sucked when I traded with them for a few weeks, I don't know if the Russian branch is any better.

They look great when you look at their site and what they offer, but they are getting some very bad reviews lately at the Forex Peace Army's review site: http://www.forexpeacearmy.com/public...nterbankfx.com

I know that doesn't represent everyone, but there are some really unhappy people to give this kind of review.

Thank you,
pd

Hi lostinspace,

On Alpari website, in order for someone from USA to open an account it is required:

(ONLY for customers based in the United States)
If you are based in the United States, we are only able to open a live account for you if:

  1. you are an "Eligible Contract Participant" as defined in Section 1a (12) of the Commodities and Exchanges Act ("CEA") and provide evidence to prove your status; and
  2. you sign and send to us the Eligible Contract Participant Notice in addition to other documents specified on the "Open a live Account" webpage.

An "Eligible Contract Participant" is: ............

11. an individual who has total assets in an amount in excess of

  1. a) $10,000,000; or
  2. b) $5,000,000 and who enters into the agreement, contract, or transaction in order to manage the risk associated with an asset owned or liability incurred, or reasonably likely to be owned or incurred, by the individual.

.........

So, I would say that counts me out!

I'm currently trying Activ Trades. They are from UK, and they are FSA regulated. They seem to be pretty OK. Here's the link to their site: http://activtrades.com/index.aspx?page=forex&lang=1
A good trade is when I Break Even. A great trade is when I Take Profit.

I think this is only relevant if you are a US citizen trying to open an account through Alpari UK.

Try going to the US web site. http://www.alpari-us.com/ I don't think you will find the same restriction.

Karmostaji: Thanks for the advice.

Thanks, Cornelius.
Unfortunately, they do not accept US citizens, which I happen to be.
From their help desk:

Dear Mr. Ferguson,

1)No, we don’t accept US citizens or residents.
2)Yes, we offer 1:400 leverage also on minilots (and even on microlots)
3)Once you’ve installed the platform, you have to enter your personal data on the acct. opening window (click on file / open an account), and register, in order to activate your demo account.

We’re kindly available for any further question.

Best regards

......

mt4 brokers

fxopen.com
fxpro.com
activtrades.com

fxdd is 1:200
fxcm live accts are 400:1, but you must request this. I have an email from a live representative confirming this. Their current demo, now more in-line with ECN, but only offers 100:1 leverage.

But all of them have low acct balance caps. Like fxopen is $3k activtrades is $5k euro, and I'm waiting to hear from fxcm on their acct maximums. not sure about fxpro.com acct max with high leverage.

So you could open several small accts and just keep manually opening up small accts. I guess the idea is that you'll double up enough and then get tired of it and open up standard acct.

I'm surprised at how many threads that are asking for 400:1 leverage. This should be consolidated.

Doomed before you even start...way to much leverage on way to little capital.

Based on Maxey's experience, I would strongly avoid FX Open, unless there is clear evidence that they have become good.

I think it's more difficult to get high leverage with a large deposit. Some brokers (e.g. GoMarkets) forbid high leverage for large deposits.

some do like you have noted, but plenty allow it. not a bad thing if you can control yourself. for a new trader it's a potential killer.
