I took a long at 3211, and yes, if the signs are right, I'll take a short, but I'll probably wait until price has dropped through the mid-point level.

I would like to thank you Acumen for his videos showing how Pivots, Psych Levels, Trendlnes and Fibs work.

It is very simple concept and easy to apply but very powerful.

Wish you success in your prosperous life.

This was a beauty that I unfortunately missed. A push down through the mid-point, a retrace back up and a nice little doji right on the mid-point, indicating a possible further drop. And drop it did!! Would have been worth around 40 pips or so. A classic high-probability opportunity.

That would have been a beauty EV. I missed it but got a later rejection of the pivot/RN area. Please excuse the range bar chart, I entered on a lh at 109.95 after the RN held (the first time!). Fortunately I decided to leave my stop above the pivot at 110.10 and avoided a stop out by a whisker..

I exited after a hl at 109.28 for +67.

Really nice trade, Ian. Congrats! It's always the same. When one has time to sit and watch the screen, nothing happens. When one has other things to see to, that's when it all starts happening!! I think it's a conspiracy!!

Thought you might like this one. S1 is right under the 75 line.

Price moves up to previous R level at S1/75. A doji then a dragon fly doji.

Didn't want to break lower and I exited with a few pips as I was watching gj and was up much more there.

Thanks for that, V. Following on from that, price retraced off the quarter-point (not shown) and then continued down to the mid-point. With my charts set at 15m, I missed these, V. Perhaps I'd better shape myself and check the 5m TF a bit more often!!
Cheers, brother.

Edit: After checking my 15m chart out, it seems that I missed a nice bearish harami pattern, V., which set off the drop to the mid-point, yielding around 20 pips or so.

Saw this small period of consolidation along the mid-point level, and just waited for the break-out.

Not a bad idea, capstone. I was only experimenting with a naked chart, and only going back a few months or so. Still, the results were quite surprising. Those lines are like magnets!!

Guys, just catching up on thread. I am currently looking at 4hr breakout reversal trades and have just done the same thing across 16 currencies, showing regular S/R points. As I now have a bigger, wider screen its a revelation, spotting reversal points.

A pull-back to the mid-point level (blue ellipse), and then a continuance up to R1.

Thought I would drop by. There was also a trade breaking out of falling TL on 15m chart that runs thro Asian session. Entry on breakout & above 40sma (I know its not your own preference but its been recommended to me so I am seeing how effecive it is) at 105.55. Original push up from DP at 105.36 (actually there was a micro falling TL there on 5 min, breakout 105.40 but too close to previous weeks low).

Ive been speaking to someone who uses weekly & monthly pivots a lot - and generally ignores the daily ones (for 20 pip moves I dont think they should be ignored!). Interestingly your trade went up to WP at 106.24 before retracing. May be worth watching for WP & MPs if they are in close proximity to daily pivots like this as you may run more profit from the trade.

I've put the W and M pivots on, Barry. However, I WON'T be ignoring the daily ones!! What you say about "close proximity" is true, mate. This suggests some mighty confluences, and hence stronger S/R zones.

Blimey. Thread is quiet. This week has been much better for trading. Trends are easier! Anyway, thought I would attach this as its a currency that you guys dont trade much if I remember correctly. Dont ignore it, as there have been a few good trades recently.

Its only a small scalp today but you will see, despite all my pivot, psychs and fib lines, that currency trades to this threads principles. Also note the varied trendlines and reaction to them.

I will attach another chart in a few minutes.

Wow! All those lines!!!!!! Barry, don't know how you cope!! This pair is one I actually do check out from time to time, mate.

You're late on tonight, brother. Burning the candle at both ends?

Closing down until the morning. Take care.

Thank you for the pun Maestro. On my own tonight. Also been checking out daily setups. Only ones are JPY pairs & I am wary of trading JPY with BoJ interfering.

Night night. I know you need your sleep old boy. http://www.forexfactory.com/images/icons/icon10.gif
