The risk of buying locked and protected EA

I bought an EA that was locked with something called MQLLOCK and the programmer has apparently now passed away. He updated and released the locked EA on a monthly basis. Now I can't use the EA even though I paid for 12 months.

I emailed mqllock my receipt together with the email showing the guy has passed away.
But the mqllock guy says (like a lawyer) that he has no relationship with me as I am a third party and that he won't help me. Even though he apparently can help me by activating the EA for the remaining of period I have paid.

Shit happens ,hope u learned something from this.
Premium EAs are a simple way to make some extra money from their failures,beacuse if i code the holy grail then why the fuck should want to sell it and make some extra cash ?

I paid $2400 for the EA and now I can't event trade.
I just want to warn other people reading this to not buy EAs protected with Mqllock.
There is no software that can't be hacked.

I'm sorry that you've lost your money. Maybe it’s a blessing in disguise because if you’d have been trading the EA you’d most likely lose much more. I was having look intoall kinds of EAs myself because in theory, automated strategies sound fantastic, it helps removes biases and emotions, but in reality it didn’t for me. It reminds me of the joke:

A son asks his father what the difference between theory and reality is.

I spoke to my lawyer about this yesterday.
He said I have the legal right to "hack" and use this software as I have paid for it and the seller has refused to provide full delivery. He wrote me a written letter I can use in this regard.

I will now research and see if it's even possible.
