I'm with interbankfx, and I'm getting sick and tired of slippage, poor execution, and generally being taken to the cleaners. Anybody have a better broker I can trade through? Which brokers trade directly with the exchanges? Which brokers do not take the opposite position you take?

Please, I'm desperate here. I want to trade full time, but I can't find a broker who I can rely on, who has MY interests at heart.

Been live with Oanda since April and despite their neurotic moments, I'm satisfied with them overall.

Since this is your first post, I'm curious to know how long you've been live with Interbankfx. That and welcome to FF.

you have to remember that there is no exchange for spot fx. Banks pretty much make markets. that being said you probably want to find a way to move away from the dealing desk model and closer to the banks. if you like MT4 i would try Tradeview Forex they use an STP with MT4. otherwise you might want to look into one of the larger ECN brokers.

I use tradeview and have been very happy. i have been scalping for 5-10 pips a clip and i use a deviation of 1-2 pips to minimize slippage. if i dont use the deviation i dont get slipped but sometimes its harder to get fills because they use micro pips in their pricing.

If you are having trouble with IBFX i would def give tradeview a try.

I've been trading with them for four months. I've been trading index futures for about one year, and stock futures for about two. Started recently with forex, and I made a killing on demo, with great execution. But when I switched live, all of a sudden I get slippage, disconnection when my other platform for index futures is running perfectly, and I'm sure they're stop hunting, which I obviously can't prove.

Do any of you trade full time for a living?

Good Morning,

Choosing a broker is important work. I'm with Oanda and I'm very happy. FXCM also has a huge capital base. I know someone who went live with Tradeview and they requoted him at least 6 times on an exit and wouldn't let him out until 1/2 the profit was gone.
No Dealing Desk is the way to go. ECN if you're up for it.

Voldemort, does Tradeview have a dealing desk model? Which other brokers are ECN? Judging by the capital requirements, it looks like Oanda is the "safest" option. Are they an ECN?

Thanks for the guidance.

Oanda is a no dealing desk, electronic execution market maker. It's not an ECN, but there is no dealer to mess with your trades either.

A little more info about me, so that you know where I'm coming from.

I'm a newbie to forex, and I've been learning quickly, but every day I learn something new, I realise how much I don't know.

I traded stocks and warrants for many years, and then graduated to stock futures and index futures some time ago.

I started using my technical analysis system on forex a few months ago, and I found that it works fairly ok with good money management. The money management is the most important part.

Started out with a couple of demo accounts, fxcm and interbankfx being two of them. I decided to go live with interbankfx, and I've had problems ever since.

I'd like to trade forex full time, but I don't know if I can with such unreliable service and questionable brokers. Anyone here trade full time?

I had acconts with InterbankFx and Oanda.I lost my time with them (slippage, connections problems).
They sucks.Really THEY SUCKS!!!
I tell you that after I have an account with HotspotFX.It's like I changed from Borat's car to a Ferrari.
So my answer is :find a good ECN.
