Actually it ended up with a good 160 points down... right to 11320 (clear and evident technical confluence.)
We must understand Market's logic if we want to be successful in this profession.

I'm referring to the theme of Imperative programming and Declarative programming.

Model.
Specific condition evaluation.
True or False.
Conditional expression application: If... Then... Else/Otherwise.
Switch statements...

Oh. I like this one.
It seems so intelligent and clever.
It seems so complicated and intellectual... it recalls algos and HFT...
and on the contrary it is absolutely simple, stupid!

How was my (solitary) day?
I waited fot the price to reach the highs, after the open, to short it.
And I did it.
This is my entry as could be seen on m5 chart.
It was an heavy one... in super tight stop.

The Impulse/Push down was pure crazyness.
I added more positions attacking full force.
I'm still scared by that price action.
I tried to scale out and start banking... impossible!: no quotes, no quotes, no quotes!

So, horrified... fearing a counter spike, I managed to jumped out (stock and barrel) at 11.562 in trailing stop on m1...

In any case was a pure textbook windfall gain: 50points in multiple positions on m1..
But... it is clear what does being without any control mean? What was that feeling for a trader like me?

I had this conversation in real time with some of the readers of these pages.
Now imagine to be in that move but on the wrong side of the market... and you are trying to exit and you press on your mouse...

The rest of my day is visible in the pictures I posted above, talking about music.
After my warning about 487, I stayed out, calm on the sidelines.
Waiting for to the dust to settle down.
My last mission started well beyond the break. LOL

Yes. Sorry, I don't like the pure hindsight exhibition.
But to be precise I always posted some chart or blotter (immediately deleted)
always with some witnesses.

you dance smoothly...

just be mindful that a wrong mindset jumping in and out of a trade... "a trigger happy attitude.." stay a bear on a bear feel and do the opposite on bull presence.

before your entry... you should already have scanned the whole picture... the terrain... so when scout is deployed and market proves you right... so deployed the troops in full gear... blazing all your ammos... but what i want to say here is just before you send all your troops, you should already figure out the zone of your exit.... you should already drafted your "conditional expressions... if & what if scenarios...

i'm just saying..

In general... as general rule. Splendid advice. It's mine as well. You taught that to me.

In this particular case, actually, the price was bouncing out of a Daily CONFIRMED UP Trendline.
Right on Stable and strong Support after a direct fall of 170 points. (D1 has been posted above)
To me, huge valuable reasons to have a controlled try on the retrace.
(Always if the Trader is able to understand that it is just a retrace to verify! LOL)

Second.
As you perfectly know, in the end, all depends from the trend you are following.
I trade short charts... and I can't say more than that in a public forum.
Gann wrote a lot about those tactics. And fti, too.

managing your positions... in a running battle don't be scared to talk to yourself frequently... ask yourself and don't be afraid, even if sometimes you sound and look silly... this is the only way for you to be feeling the market while dancing her... check and recheck...

part of your modus operandi is scaling in and out... master your skews... don't be too greedy...

I have institutional friends who trade under a company structure, their trading has to have guidelines. The risk they trade isn't their own..not really.
This alone has massive implications to your psychological state when trading.. Worse case scenario if you aren't performing you get the sack but you keep
your funds intact and you find another job. When you trade completely on your own terms its a completely different scenario, especially if your trading large
size....Its much, much, more difficult. Some traders I know who did very well under the institutional structure really struggled when they decided to go it alone..

This is a brutal game..

after the lowest swing point, as i did not see any new lower point... then i started to scale out... FIFO...

i normally leave a scout to feel that it will be easy for me to see the whole market structure from its foot prints the next day... except weekends...

About an early entry testing the S/R or at the first rejection of that S/R....
Yes. An early scouting mission could be always be evaluated in function of a tight stop.
Is the natural purpose and role of scouting operations and is the key of my "frenzy" (OODA) style.
If one is too "sophisticated" in talking about STOPS... so as to prefer a more politically correct lingo
we can safely say that a scout is always expandable!
And I tried a few time on that line! Two valorous men dead!
Mission South was simply postponed with perfect and controlled result.
Light loaded and nimble, I was prepared for all the possibilities.
Matter of style, preferences and dynamics.


LOL... Predicting the past.
Why looking good with the benefit of hindsight is not an option in this business?
