Does anyone know if GBP news reports has an impact on the EUR and vice versa? I really hate trading into reports and I have no idea if news from New Zealand affects the Aussie or Chinese news affects the JPY etc...

It never really shows imact on other currencies on Forex Factory.

Also...does anyone know of a site that explains which reports also affects other futures. For example CL vs NG. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure GBP news reports has an impact on the EUR and opposite. I remember all the Brexit stuff happen and the rates were affected severely that time.

I believe GBP news will affect EUR as well, to an extent; and vice versa. AUD and NZD probably works the same manner as well. Some people believe that news are the stimulus that move pairs in the direction, others believe that news will only have temporoary impact. Which is your belief?

That's true, it's why people trade currency pairs correlations.

Start with checking the Forex Calendar here on Forexfactory, it has explanations about each news event.

I'd be very careful trading GBP or EUR at all over the next couple of months regardless of whether a news event is due or not. It only takes one moron from the British government to say something stupid and the GBP & EUR markets are all over the place

I agree. The GBP is very dependent on any and all Brexit news at the moment, both scheduled and unscheduled ones, so keep your eyes open.

Basically, high impact news affects almost all of the trading pairs; so concentrate more on the high impact news.

This is a matter of geopolitics and global economy. Usually international treaties, elections immediately reflect on currency. It makes sense not to trade on the same day; it can be not very smart idea. Definitely it is a good idea to track the news.

Economic news sites are useful; but you can use economic calendar of FF for news trading; it’s free but very much useful.

You can always look at the EUR/USD thread; often someone will post the links for the speeches. Cheers.

This is a condensed version of the FF news spreadsheet that attaches to mt4. Just adjust the settings to fit your needs.

As for trading news, sometimes other currencies affect other currencies, and sometimes they don't. Often, anything less than high impact will spike, then reverse the spike as if it never happened. Of course, that is not true all the time, or else anyone could trade. Most likely this action is a result of banks already knowing the news so it has already been traded. At announcement then, they can move price in the opposite direction to drive traders to their stop losses. You can expect any major USD news to effect the whole market, but that is not necessarily true of EUR and GBP.

This indicator supposedly tracks correlation.

You can also use this software if you would like a stand alone calendar to use. It shows the whole week for the whole market, but you can reduce what you see if you want. It also has a notification alarm.

Use forex factory’s economic calendar. It will tell which news will impact which currency and impact potential also.
