That's the whole problem. That a good system wouldn't really bring more than 0.2% on average per day due to money risk management.
Risk Management is of utmost importance!

Its not a question of percentage a day - the percentage comes with the stake, more important is the pip-consistancy per day. Five pips a day is enough to levarege you up - 5 pips a day, than stopping trading. Not more, not less. Lets say you deposit 500 EUR, trade 65 EUR one lot Nasdaq, so you make lets say 6 EUR a pip, trade 6 lots each position. After the first day i make 30 EUR (5 pips). After the second day again 30 EUR After the third day again 30 EUR and so on, after the first week (5 days trading), i make 150 EUR. After a month i make 150...

I've never understood this either... people talking in pips per day. Your stop loss matters right? So if you make 5 pips per day, but your stop loss is 10 pips, that's probably not a very good strategy.

{quote} And do you know anyone or any system that gives 1% on average?
Ignored
Yes I know quite a few that make 10% to 30% a month... they place only 1 or 2 trades a week, off an hourly chart using only price action, no indicators at all.

I may start a Trade Explorer showing this plan in action.
In the days of old when sailors were bold, and seldom if ever contented.

The thing is that one trade can bring 1% or 2% or even 4% return, but in the long run, we must count the losing trades as well. Hence, the return on average will be lower than that.

one trade can bring even more of 100% return(with high leverage accounts) but if you have a good system and enough mental control be sure that the result will be positive every day that you trade.

I find 1 to 3% profits per day to be a bit of an unrealistic approach because with all the necessary risk management tools and techniques applied, it is very difficult for anyone to make 2 to 3% of profit.
Ignored
As I said before, it depends on the day you trade. For example, yesterday I had the right settings for trading and I did it.But I could not get any new deals today So depend on your market conditions, and your system you should not expect a good deal every day.

Thats also my point of view (by the way, not only my point of view, also of some higher experienced professionals) - according to the market circumstances you can make 100% in some seconds by limited risk and tight SL - look what happened to the Aussie after the interest raise yesterday - thats such a situation - this was a gift.

When i've started to learn to scalp the US indices, in the beginning stage i've crashed a lot of small accounts.

In the end (it took me several months to figure out a method) i've conditioned myself to make 33% to 60% on every single day over a period of 4 weeks.
Then i knew i was ready.

You must go through a lot and really try everything.

1% to 3% per day is possible, the question is: will you be able to achieve that?

Sure it can be done.

But i rather wouldn't put this pressure on myself anymore (if you're a profitable trader and proved it to yourself).

Just focus to make money/profits on the days you're trading and keep your bad trades smaller (exit bad ones).

Then you will grow your account for sure.

In the long haul there will be extraordinary days with huge profits when making money will be more "easy" cause of longing into big up-swings or shorting in big down moves.

That sounds about right. It may be even less on US100

it's the most volatile major index in the world as of now at least that's over a 4 week period. The EUR50 is close

Thats right - for example today (NFP-day) i deposited 20 EUR before NFP session started to scalp the Russel,(discretionary trading) and at 18:00 GMT 2 i was on 32 EUR - thats more than 50%, and the day is not over.
I could stop now, but i wait for hints what the direction will be at the end, to catch some additional pips.

Session one was right after NFP release, session two was the US opening, and session three will be the US closing.

So thats just what is possible in that business concerning percentage profits. Clear, thats not every day, but the strategy to trade only at certain times cuts massive the number of loss-trades and rewards you much higher reward than those "lousy" 2-5% a month.

In reality, candle type patterns are not any sustainable way to follow! I personally have such a bad experience on candlestick trading! Besides, Indicators can’t be a proper solution here!

I don't like the EuroStoxx50 spread even though it also moves very good.

I prefer the S&P500 over the Nasdaq100
Both are moving very good during the NY session.

In my own opinion, 3 or 4 percent is good. I am a daytrader, and the rule of FTMO is 5%, so when i see the drawdown is 4%, it is time to get out, no more, and we will wait for another day.

Its 10% if youre on the aggressive account

but you have to also be aggressive with your lot size. maybe .5% per trade multiple trades per day in one session
