I'll try to keep this real quick in the hope I get a few good answers:

Q1. Is it possible to code something (not an EA) for MetaTrader to draw me an object, such as a rhombus, and then let me manipulate it, like you do with a rectangle object. What would this be called ?

Q2. I have some programming experience from way back, can anyone give me a link to where I can get some example code that might give me a startnig point to Q1. ?
20 pips a day isn't too much to ask . . .

answer q1 yes... easiest way to get a rhombus is to click on insert (client terminal, MT4), select shapes, then triangle... connect two triangles to form rhombus... double click on the shapes to select on chart, then manipulate to desired position by dragging the little boxes on the corners of the shapes.

answer q2, metaquotes.net has some code available, also there is the yahoo group metatrader indicators and experts... where you may be able to find some code...

Thanks for the quick reply, had a try of this and I just get 2 triangles, I'm really after a rhombus that I can drag around from a simgle point and automatically keep it as a rhombus, i.e. sides equal and parallel.

Just to update my one and only thread . . .

I did this eventually, I used a script to draw 2 trend lines as a cross +, the user can then move the trend lines and the script uses the TLs to draw the rhombus (using 4 more TLs), it updates with each tick.

Easy when you know how . . .
