Hurst has developed the Concept of Valid Trend Line (VTL) based on Tops or Bottoms of the samr degree, order, nature

hereunder on the chart you can observe that Price has touched 2 times on 2 points the Upper Limit of the Yellow Envelope based on CMA 256 .

These 2 Price Tops are then of the same order

Linking these 2 Tops of the same nature , degree, order gives us a Valid DownTrend LIne

When Price Breaks this VTL on the Upside it means :

a) that Price Trend has changed Direction
b) this generates what Hurst labels as an Action Signal where in this case and at this moment you can consider opening a Long Position

just to show you that the kind of Channel you use is (almost) irrelevant to the analysis à la Hurst

Hi OAPDave you are welcome! We are here to discuss, learn and exchange different views. In my opinion its always the same: sooner or later price will cut the middle of the sine wave. But very important ist the underlying trend (again thanks to Paris Boy). The tools for observing this may vary from trader to trader.. But parisboys octaves (i know its based on Gann, Hurst, Tillman works) is the best one can come around.
