To anyone using the Strat, I've been allowing one candle to get into my trend. It's gotten me psychologically good at cutting losers. Does anyone else have a similar one candle rule?

Hi. What kind of candle are you talking about. Personally I dont use thestrat method by rob smith but I did some reading on that website (and recently refreshed) and I noticed I am actually using some of those candle patterns.
That method is pretty good since it is pure price action.

I am actually using some of those candle patterns.

As I once remarked to Terry, PASR embraces those patterns for the experienced PASR trader, but for those without that experience, it is a very good PA strategy.

Check volume, bistolis - would that have helped keep you in?

I dont have access to the futures volumes of the exchange and they are quite different

Really? All Futures brokers provide real exchange volume. Suggest to look for another broker - volume precedes (leads) PRICE and is the gateway to consistent profits. Many times volume has kept me in a trade where PA would have suggested to get out and got me out when PA looked "healthy".

Dow is something I have to get used to first. Sometimes it can be so boring and choppy, and then again it will just turn around in no time.

M1:

I took a short at break of support (arrow) but was so stubborn and ignorant while trying to get more out of the market that I ignored the TP structure and let it go to break even! If you see something and ignore it, noticing that must be the key to solving a major problem.

The good thing is that after some small losses and failures I came to my senses and took what the market offered ahead of support, making up for the prior mistakes plus some profit. It is hard at the hard right edge with your hard earned money after a long day of hard work. But it teaches you something you will never learn in other professions. When I look at my journal, I can already see that I am the only one who can stop me from taking profit.

Many times volume has kept me in a trade where PA would have suggested to get out and got me out when PA looked "healthy".

I will try to post examples this week-end for you.

That sounds great, since I am a beginner at using volume myself. Correcting a former mistake by taking profit here at S on M1. I sometimes give back good trades too often, because I want to let winners run. It is such a thin walk between both ...

One last. I thought (mistake) it could take out resistance, exited too late with a small profit. The LH should have been enough to tell me it is tumbling down. Well, off to bed. Just like Germany, at least with a small profit today unlike their soccer team.
