TP hit with my two entries on AJ, 340 pips.

Last night I closed a NU short, based on 'If the trade is wrong, get out!' rule, since yesterday closed as a BUEB. 20 pips loss:

A quick 44 pips on GN on H1, trade spotted while traveling, taken on mobile. Price was rejected by resistance, and I fine tuned the entry on M5, after it retraced and formed a shooting star, thus increasing my R:R. Attached is H1:

Also grabbed almost 100 pips on a long on GC on D1, after a lost added position of 40 pips. Trade closed manually, because the D1 closed as a BEOB.

Yes, you are right that volatility changes every day but not necessarily the ranking of the pairs. I only do my volatility after the New York close every Friday and what is interesting (at least to me) is that over the 5+ years I have been monitoring volatility in this fashion, the top 10 pairs have not changed, only their order and then only slightly.

For example, GBPNZD has always been #1. GBPAUD, GBPCAD and GBPJPY have all alternated positions 3, 4 and 5 followed by EURNZD. Positions 7, 8, 9 and 10 are the ones that change most between EURAUD, EURCAD, EURJPY and GBPUSD.

EDIT: I don't think I made it clear elsewhere that I AVERAGE all my volatility readings over the total number of weeks which is currently at 291

BB touched the TL and going up {image} Boss Last week bar is BUEB and DBLHC, this week continue to bull and touched the resistance and Boss20 {image} Worker break the resistance. {image} i trade basic PASR last week and got profit on this pair. now i think it will continue to north, but i never do this kind of trade. i think i will wait for the retrace and PA. Strat... and everyone. Please comment on my process here or anything if u find it wrong. Thanks in advance. Regards, Rina

You did very good Rina!

I gave notice of support on this pair on November 26, 2017, see attached. Also note Wild Thing (trogger) was already long and beat us all!

In addition to Big Boss trend line support, there was support from previous resistance turned to support several times which, on the Big Boss, is very powerful CONFLUENCE. The Boss PRICE looks like it will CLOSE above the Strat Shadow by New York close today (CLOSE CONFIRMED)which is another indication of bullish strength. The Worker PRICE has already CONFIRMED this by CLOSING above the Strat Shadow.

The target will be the Big Boss Strat Shadow which is in CONFLUENCE with the 200 ema but there will likely be a wobble around 0.7850/0.7890

I traded basic PASR last week and got profit on this pair

Again, well done, Rina, this shows you are following the steps laid out in The Path. Don't worry about swing trading or trend trading UNTIL you feel very comfortable with Basic PASR otherwise you will confuse yourself and end up going backwards (as just about most have done after their first successful Basic PASR trade).

As you progress and start developing your own style of trading PASR, you will need to find out what you are comfortable with in positions, position sizing and number of positions.

There are two examples of extremes of this on here on this thread. I don't like starting with lots of small positions and prefer to jump in with my normal sizing and then load up as PRICE moves into FAT CITY. Wild Thing (trogger), on the other hand, prefers to enter with lots and lots of small positions. We both do very well and neither is right or wrong - only what suits our personalities, so as you move further along The Path, start finding out what suits YOUR personality.

Again, good job, Rina

Good job, young man! You did better than me as there were no pairs which met my conditions today. However, NO TRADE is ALWAYS way better than a LOSING TRADE! (Rule #1 - CAPITAL PRESERVATION)

Your UNDERSTANDING of PASR is REALLY GOOD now as you KNEW to take profit BEFORE that wild candle 25 minutes later which was driven by the Canadian GDP coming in at ZERO % against a forecast of 0.2%

UNDERSTANDING PASR and recognising this - All GBP & EUR markets are messy is a measure of HOW FAR you have come in your trading career. Well done!

As we have done with others before you, we can help you with this and progress you into a "consistently profitable trader" if you are willing and able.

First, we SEE that you are trading PRICE ACTION hopefully without any indicators from your previous thread history but are you trading PASR?

Usernames intrigue me as I believe they tell of a person's personality and character so, after some research, I find that "Catalin" is the name for males in Romania ( I discounted the Basque name for "Catherine") and Eros is the God of Love so, putting these together I can only assume you are The Playboy of Romania!

Your assumption couldn't be more correct. I love chicks and forex.

Yes, I am trading price action, and the setups that I like best are breakout-retest-continuation. Therefore, yes, I can say I am a PASR trader, because I like entering on a PA signal that occurs at an S/R area, when that area had been broken and then price has come back to test it. In other words, support becoming resistance and resistance becoming support, that is what I like. I also added your WCC to my trading tools, which has now become part of my trading arsenal.

Have an amazing Christmas, Strat and everyone else!

What Strat has said about understanding the type of Trader you are, as an individual, is very important.

Unfortunately, for me, where I feel most comfortable Trading doesn't fit well with the time I have available to Trade.

I am most comfortable with the M5 TF, this fits for me, I look for a possible Setup, I look for where I will Enter and then Exit at the first Level of trouble.

The whole process can be over in, at the very most, three hours.

One of the most important things for me is to spend as little time as possible exposed to the Market.

The less time spent in the Market means there is far less chance of Market Conditions going against me.

And if I have got it wrong I know very quickly.

This is very different when it comes to Trading the Daily TF it can take days for a Trade to Setup and days more of being in a Trade.

All this time means the Condition of the Market and Price from when you first see the Setup, Enter and Exit can change dramatically.

I guess I'm not good at spotting longer term Trade possibilities it's all about Trading to your Strengths.

I don't know if the charts, I have posted below, conform exactly to PASR as Strat is Trading it but it works for me.

Wishing everyone, who celebrates Christmas, a very happy festive time.

Hi Steveplatt
I know exactly where you are coming from are used to only be able to trade shorter term. In the end this was down to my lack of patience and A need to see quick results. .... I loved it when the 5M timeframe trades worked out - a greater risk return ratio. That it was exhausting didn’t fit with my life style and the inpatients grew and grew making me want to jump into wrong trades
It took a long long time for me to calm down and become indifferent to wanting to trade. But once I reached that stage and moved on to the daily timeframe trading become far more relaxed and even predictable and yes boring It’s a part of the learning process while learning there is a need to look at charts and try and trade much more often later with more experience I have learnt that there will always be enough opportunities on the daily, more than enough but I won’t find them all.
Basically now I leave the short time frames alone and stick with the dailies and I’m in a happier for Leaving trades for days or even weeks.
Anyway my point is it’s possible to change your trading comfort zones.

Merry Xmas to you
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting...

Hi Strat,

I'm reading your thread on a regular basis (several times per day) trying to understand PASR. I tried to read as much as possible from the old thread as well.

However, I must say that the information is pretty scattered and it is really difficult to compile it, especially because i have a full time job, kids etc. There is no doubt in my mind that there are many readers of your thread in the exact situation like myself.

My suggestion and request to you is to provide more hints regarding the location of relevant post on PASR such as:

- Strat Shadow
- Stop loss placement
- MAs used
- any other aspects you consider relevant

In this way, I am confident that the activity on the thread will increase significantly. For sure there will be many traders posting and asking for your advice.

Thank you and Merry X-Mas to you and all contributors/readers of this thread.

Merry Christmas everybody

This is my first weekly analysis here and I will appreciate any constructive comment.

G/J On the Daily the price bounced off of the mag. resistance at 152.00 and also the Fib 38.2. The worker and boss heading up, big boss slowly turning up as well.
It looks like price is now locked between TL and resistance(triangle). We have to wait how price will come out of it.

G/C On the daily price break the TL and stopped at 1.700 and Fib 23,6. Worker and boss heading north, but big boss is flat.

G/CH daily trend is up, price stopped at 1.3200 and we will wait if it will bounce off of the TL and support. We will wait for the bullish candle to close above last bearish one, then we can put buy order above the high of that.

A/J Daily price bounced off the mag. resistance at 87.400 and also Fib 50. Friday candle make small shooting star. We can put sell order 10 pips below the candle with Sl above the fib and resistance.

G/U Daily price is locked in triangle with support at 1.3300. We can put buy order above the triangle 20 pips with Sl below the support with TP of the size of the first swing or opposite.
