Hey traders, This looks like a great indicator, thanks for sharing. This is a long shot but is it in anyway possible to use it to generate renko basket charts? For instance a combined chart of 7 JPY pairs.
Ignored
Good morning, no, it can not create basket charts. It can create several renko charts all from one time based chart.
regards
Larry

Hi Lawrence. It is testament to the quality of your renko generator that I keep on coming back to look for updates and it's not because I'm having any issues, it's just because I know you keep releasing updates. I think it would be great if you could add a "Feed" button to the remote. When I set out a renko profile for various pairs I tend to have the renko charts on top of the feed charts but I like to be able to quickly bring up the feed chart to view volume and PA. Thanks again for your hard work and generosity.

Hi Stu

I just came back from my 50th birthday bash. It is so nice to have good mates.

Inserted Video

You can switch between Renko and time based chart (source) using the Mxx buttons.. not sure if I understand.. might do a new video today and then it will all be clear.

Renko_iHarvest EA : It takes trades on renko bars with the option to only enter on retraces or in both directions using about 5 parameters. You need to be there and cannot just let it run... but my aim was the following: 1% per day with a max DD of 10% therefore netting 10% per month. That is a very high target IMO and if the reader disagrees with my statement, the reader is obviously made for bigger and better things than to read my comments.

I have made lots of progress with my renko trading but am still using my small live account (5K). During the 30 days, I ran my own EA(iHarvest) on renko charts and wanted to see how it survives different scenarios. (Spikes during NFP; quiet times, odd currencies such as GBPNZD etc etc) The results in a nutshell: DD was up to 12%, 1% worked on most days and it took about a week to get out of the DD situation..

I aim to trade about 5-7 days during September still using 5K, if it all goes ok (and it looks like it), I will get a mate of mine to trade a medium(30-50K) account of my money during October (he used to be a trader at UBS but now on his own..trading his strategy). I am on vacation with my family from 7.10-5.11.17 and upon my return will reevaluate my next steps.

FAQ:

  1. Can I post the EA? No, as it is not finished and tested.
  2. Will I post the EA? I am thinking about it once it is working for me for at least 2-3 months using a decent size account (decent means at least 100K)
  3. Will I sell the EA? Obviously not.... even so there are so many people being sucked in by so called traders selling their EAs claiming to make millions for 200 dollars. I sometimes wonder how one can believe this....I am actually surprised that no-one has come up with the idea of selling the lotto number for 99 dollars. Pretty much the same thing IMO
  4. Will I train people once I finished it? That is something I am thinking about. Once it works for me ....

So that is my update after a long silence. Reader please understand this: I am living the lifestyle that most people dream about ( in a modest kind of way), therefore I reserve the right not to answer including ignoring comments. No offence meant.. .but I needed to state this.

PS: I have actually added my picture to my profile and have decided that I will not answer any post from anyone without a profile picture.

2% plus on a small live test account....and survived a huge spike of 40 pips. I used the renko chart indicator from post 1, so I know that it works. Last month it survived NFP. I am running all this on a VPS from a pretty basic provider, but I am on top of all the normal issues that one has with VPS'es.

If you are serious about trading a larger account, you must have a reliable VPS most likely within Equinix London or NY. All the large players are co-located there.

Happy trading.

Performance is actually not the most important thing... the most important is the DD, then performance.

The below post is courtesy of Tekkies

After many months searching for a Renko generator that does not use or refer to wicks. Those that were found did not work properly. By using the code examples with trial and error coded this Renko generators.

To use:
Place Renko generators in correct folders
Open any currency chart with timeframe M1
Drag or double click on renko generator
Set Renko block size, offline time frame, template.
- default: 10 pips block size
- default: offline M2 / M3
- default template: Renko.tpl
- offline chart will be posted on platform
Uncheck offline chart (F8 - Common - Offline chart)
- Expert Advisers will not function if this is not unchecked

Trading during the last week of my holidays

I am posting the results for the renko trades taken during my last week of holidays. I am quite happy with the result and with the small DD. Let me test this for another 3 months and see what happens. (some of you might think 3 months is very long, well it is not. It is actually not enough but I will get many unexpected events and see what happens :-) )
Please note that my renko generator is far from perfect!!

So what is the secret? There is none! The philosophy is:

Take many very small trades in the direction of the trend.
Close the profitable trades in batches and use some of the winnings to close losing trades.
Rinse and repeat (quote from a good trading mate! )

All trades were taken on EURUSD. Next week will add USDJPY to the league of symbols....let the games begin!

Hello Campers,
This was a heavy trading week with some challenging stretches. Started with 5500 USD at the start of the week and ended up with 5900 USD. 350 USD is net a 6.9% increase! I am happy with this result. USDJPY and EURUSD were the currencies trades. 1200 trades..... draw down 7% still ok.

Next week I will start working this account at GMT 0 on Monday again with the above pairs and see. Wish me luck

Look the way I have colour coded the candles above and below the Guppy. Also note the 1 hour separator lines (it is an indicator) that we use to see when the market is likely to move.

Happy pips

PS: Today was great day after this run... beforehand I was struggeling

I really appreciate your sharing your wonderful tools.
Please may I request for the Mean Renko to be adjustable as it stands it prints a new bar on 50% increment and 150% reversal, I would like to experiment with the 150% reversal and whatever percent increment say 15, 20 or 75%.

If you could take the time to program it would be a blessing to this community.

Thanks once more.
Let it turn and find your entry.

These are some very nice indicators that you are sharing. I particularly like your Renko Chart Generator - it looks and works like another one I use which I paid for (I guess you know the one). I noticed that some of the S/D zones remain on the chart even once they are broken. This is not criticism, I'm just pointing it out - it is still a very nice indicator. Your round number indicator video is unavailable. Thank you for sharing tgdrela1.

Thanks for your development here.
Is it possible to look at the possibility of making your renko generator not to be minutes dependant. So it doesnt matter if its placed on 1 M OR 5 m or 4H time frame. Even if it means using a pair chart to generate on the offline of that particular chart.
Regards

I am still using this renko chart generator and I have no complaints - it is great. Be aware that (i think) tgdrela was using this thread to promote a brokerage so perhaps that is why people are experiencing issues (in other words I don't think everything he shared here was from the goodness of his heart). I followed a link he provided to google drive and realised things were not as they seemed at first.

My thoughts
1. Try using the default offline timeframe. Normally 66, 67, 68 for me.
2. I found that I had problems if i changed the user defined template options. Leave them as they are and just change the template normally as you see fit.
3. This is a really good and free renko generator so in the absence of tgdrela I will try to help if anyone has issues.

Why do you NEED to create an M2 chart?

68 works just as well as 2. Just use the button that appears on the origin chart to open the offline chart.
