This Trading System and EA was inspired by the work of BigE (R.I.P.), Emmanuel, tony-fx, wizlon32 and Abokwaik. It is a Hodgepodge of their respective systems, strategies and perspectives that have been posted in these Forums. Thanks to each of you for your selfless input into my Forex Journey to date.

https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=656770
https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=291622
https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=614720

I started this as a post for tony-fx's thread (https://www.forexfactory.com/showthread.php?t=656770) but thought it would detract from the "purity" of his system hence a separate thread would be more appropriate. The system essentially replaces tony-fx's Trend Filter (Ichimoku Cloud) with a Moving Average Cross on a Higher Timeframe. I have used the 5/8 EMA (Close) on the Daily Timeframe for trading on the H4 Charts. Additionally, I have introduced BigE's 5-SMA-Typical-Shift3 as the trigger for the Signal Candle. Echoing BigE here, the Ichimoku filter leaves too much on the table. The 'semi-martingale' feature has been maintained.

Edit: We are now using the 5-EMA-Close-Shift 3 for the trigger line.

Disclaimer; I am not a Programmer so while suggestions for improvement are welcome, updates will only be periodic - perhaps once monthly. Also, I do not have good/adequate Historical Data for extensive Backtesting at this time.

Thread Rules

  1. Do whatever you wish with this EA
  2. Post your results and thoughts

On Current Timeframe: Moving Average (5 Period, Simple, Typical Price; Shift3) Edit: Now using 5EMA_Close_Shift 3

Heiken Ashi
Bill Williams Fractals (used by EA to establish Auto_Stop_Loss if enabled)

Congratulation my brother Krismitt. I wish the success come to you soon. Backtests shows a very low draw down which is excellent. I would suggest to carry a backtest for longer period probably 2005 and on ward..

I am particularly impressed with the Low Drawdowns Sajid. As noted in Post # 1, I do not have good Historical Data (but will get this sorted in a bit).

Cheers.

Trade well!.

Hi , good one krismitt.

I am backtesting it in visual mode from 1.01.2017 .. on the way it opened trades with lots of 0.01,0.05,0.11,0.16 but on 23.3.2017 on this single day it opened 0.01,0.05,0.11,0.16,..................till lot size 4.66 that is (roughly like 100 trades with multiple of 0.05) in the span of 4 hours that day... I don't know if it was a bug because that many trades in this few hours on that single day is unusual ,

kindly have a look if it is a problem.

Thanks for sharing this EA.

Maybe a silly question but, where do I put the 'settings' file? Also, what do I do with it?

I've applied the template to the chart, and started the EA.

Put the set file here;
File>Open Data folder>MQL4>Presets

Then when you attach the EA to a chart go to the Inputs tab in the settings and click on Load and then select the Gold.set file.

The EA will now have the settings that Krismitt has pre-tested and set to file.
Indentify > Plan > Accept > Execute

Pretty unusual Skat.

I have attached my full results from 2017, which does not show those trades; have a look and compare.

Have you used my .set file?
