So its a new year with new beginnings as they say, and it also means its a time for new forward testing. Based on my own knowledge and experience with this strategy so far, I've set up some new forward tests to let them run throughout the year untouched and later on down the road I will take a look and see which sets have an edge if there is any. I've set up 96 charts across 8 terminals on 2 separate VPS's. This should be an interesting forward test as there are many variations of different settings I am testing. Hopefully by the end...

Hey guys, I'm still here even though I don't post every week.

So for those that are following me, back in January I started a new forward test and last week completed the first quarter and with that the first of cut of the bottom losers. Its been a interesting first 3 months with some good observations made.

I decided to cut the bottom 4 losing presets so from starting out with 96 different presets, I cut down to around 58 from the planned 64. The reason for the extra 6 cuts was because some presets had made over 50% cumulative loss over the lat 3 months and anything over 50% loss in only 3 months wasn't worth keeping so I cut them as well.

The current best winning preset is sitting at around +126% profit over the last 3 months which is pretty amazing, and the current worst performing preset that I'm still keeping is at around -43%. There are a number of other presets also doing well at between +20-50% profit so we will see how they do as we move forward in the next quarter, and see if some of the losing presets can turn around.

One thing I've learned is that the later opening time baskets did not make profit, and across all my presets they were the first to get cut. I also picked up a lot of randomness and depending on the time of day and indicator setting, by the time the basket was triggered the initial move had happened so the basket would lose one day or win the next. This strategy works best on catching the initial momentum of the pairs on the list, and finding the best time to jump in on that momentum.

News is no big problem as I noticed that its really 50/50 and some days the news might help you to win or lose so now I don't pay attention to the news. Besides the profit, I'm looking for consistency, and this has been the most difficult thing due to the randomness of the baskets. I only had a handful of presets that made a positive return on all 3 months and most did not. Now as we enter the 2nd quarter it will be interesting to see if there is any consistency with the remaining 58 presets.

I'll keep you guys posted and see you the end of June with the next update!

That is a massive piece of work! Well done and good luck going forward

If only EA could be taught to buy the local dips and sell the local tops, a lot of quick SLs happened due to short reversals after the VB triggered basket on spike.
